Examples of the Seven Deadly Sins in Fan Works.

Crossover
  • All For Luz: Fitting for the ultimate Big Bad of the story and author of most of the misery Luz has to go through, as well as others spanning multiple Realms, All For One shows traits of all seven of the sins and tries to impose them onto his successor.
    • Pride: He's incredibly arrogant and egotistical, seeing his Power Parasite Quirk as making him a god among men and encourages Luz to have this same mindset. He's also pleased as her hair and eye color slowly changes to match his, as it appeals to his narcissism. On a more positive side, he takes pride in Luz, who he regards as his Superior Successor, awakening their Quirk.
    • Greed: His Quirk is described as the symbol of this sin. He is compulsively greedy, wanting Luz to steal powerful Quirks and plans to pull a Villain Override on the girl as he believes, through her, he can expand his original Take Over the World Evil Plan into becoming a Multiversal Conqueror.
    • Gluttony: Not in a Big Eater sense. All For One has an innate hunger to steal other Quirks he fancies and is still obsessed with stealing One For All, even after its last wielder killed him. He's also responsible for Luz's Addictive Magic to get her to steal more Quirks.
    • Envy: He's implied to be tied to an envious wanting of what others naturally possess, like Belos's rule over the Boiling Isles.
    • Lust: Not in the sexual way. All For One has an immense lust for power and control, and has plans to take over The Multiverse through Luz. He's also has sadistic streak, taking pleasure in watching Luz kill people and steal Quirks which causes great pain to her victims. Hell, even Luz isn't exempt from this, enjoying tormenting and manipulating her for his own agenda.
    • Wrath: All For One can react with extreme rage to any challenge to his image of the all-powerful Invincible Villain, as is implied to why he killed Harvey Park for laying a scratch on him. He also encourages Luz to utilise The Power of Hate to Pay Evil unto Evil, as hate and anger are the only emotions he has any real faith in.
    • Sloth: All For One prefers to leave the dirty work to his underlings and rarely does anything himself. He also encourages Luz to not bothering stealing any Quirks that take time to train it to awesome level, instead focusing on Boring, but Practical and Simple, yet Awesome powers. His end goal is to reap the rewards of Luz's progress by pulling a Demonic Possession on her.
  • The Bridge: Chrysalis' Dark Magic represents and is powered Lust (in the broader sense) and King Sombra's Wrath. It turns out these are more or less titles as Grogar's students, with Lord Tirek (and before him Sendak) representing and being powered by Greed while Discord represents and draws power from Gluttony (in the broader sense of Hedonism).
  • Equestria Girls: A Fairly Odd Friendship (The Fairly OddParents! & My Little Pony: Equestria Girls): The author posted a journal entry detailing how the Seven Sins apply to the Dazzlings and the more flawed aspects of the heroes.
  • Infinity Train: Knight of the Orange Lily (Infinity Train & Pokémon: The Series): One of the stories that starts a chapter has a baker displaying seven scones based on the sins. An interesting tidbit is how the scones have ingredients and symbolism related to key characters in the Blossomverse.

Disney Animated Canon

Fairy Tail

  • Seven Sinful Crushes: Has seven Fairy Tail characters each feeling a specific sin in regards towards his respective female Love Interest.
    • Bacchus is lust, having string sexual desires towards his fellow drinker Cana.
    • Elfman is Envy, whether envy towards Bacchus being so open about his feelings towards Cana or how Laxus and Bixslow can get close with Evergreen, even as just friends, while he can't get his feelings out towards her.
    • Bixslow is Wrath, though in his case is Wrath in behalf of Lisanna, namely rage at Natsu for lacking awareness of Lisanna's feelings towards him and inadvertently hurting her as he gets closer to Lucy.
    • Natsu is greed, wanting to have as much time and closeness with Lucy and hates having to share her with the other members of his guild.
    • Gajeel is Gluttony, enjoying the scent and presence of Levy as he would enjoy eating iron.
    • Laxus is pride, not holding himself above his fellow guildmates but also holding Mirajane to a high level as well.
    • Lastly, Gray is sloth, not only limiting his ability to show emotions towards Juvia.

Godzilla

  • Abraxas (Hrodvitnon): King Ghidorah exhibits all seven of the sins in its personalities throughout the story. It, even if it isn't conscious of it, starts trying to emulate things like mating and trying to breed offspring via sex after being exposed to humanity's socio-cultural knowledge (Envy). It spawns an Undead Abomination that's wracked with Horror Hunger to consume everything, and Ghidorah in turn consumes the Many in time (Gluttony). Before it destroys a planet, it prefers to become the apex Alpha Titan predator on that planet (Greed). It eventually decides to attempt giving Monster X a rape-child (Lust). It has an arrogant view of itself as a supreme god, nevermind that it's been beaten back by the Titans of Earth that it considers second-rate before (Pride). It spends most of the fic leaving the dirty work to its minions (Sloth), albeit justifiably because Ghidorah is still regenerating and weak in a direct confrontation with the other Titans. And it's an Omnicidal Maniac, whose middle head wants to inflict A Fate Worse Than Death on Vivienne Graham just because she accidentally pushed Ichi's Trauma Button with her actions when she thought Ghidorah was dormant (Wrath).
    • There was also a discussion on the author's Tumblr proposing that the Seven Deadly Sins apply to seven antagonists in the AbraxasVerse, as portrayed in the fic and expanded since (1, 2).
      • Lust: Xenilla (the consciousness of the crystalline fungus possessing Spacegodzilla), due to its constant hunger for new knowledge which drives its destructive campaign against the inhabitants of Earth.
      • Gluttony: Gigan, who overindulges in pain and suffering to an excessive degree as a goal in and of itself, and whose followers are sense freaks that horrifically mutilate themselves out of a gluttony for sensations.
      • Greed: The Zmeyevich, who the author states are driven to desire and hoard something in their later years, which can often be a material gain like money or riches if it isn't for something more abstract.
      • Sloth: Alan Jonah, whose apathy and disillusionment with the world drives him to do everything to avoid trying to stop or check Ghidorah's growing power even when doing so threatens his men and his own self-preservation.
      • Wrath: Ghidorah, which is driven to murder every human or human-like species it finds across the universe in hatred, fury and vindictiveness for its traumatic encounter with one such alien civilization in its Freudian Excuse; plus it middle head attempted to force one human through a Fate Worse than Death for an accidental slight that said human had no way of knowing about.
      • Envy: The Scarred Ones/Scarred Apes (the AbraxasVerse equivalent to the Skar King and his faction), who angrily and resentfully covet the benevolent Alpha Titans' supremacy over the rest of the Earth for themselves.
      • Pride: Apex Cybernetics, who for their own power sought to wrest control of the Earth from the benevolent Alpha Titans, radically meddled with eldritch forces they barely understood to achieve that end, and had complete sureness that they were in control of their actions throughout until the point where their actions backfired on them.
      • Honorary mention of the lesser-known Eighth Deadly Sin, Despair: Genocide Route!Godzilla (a version of Godzilla in a possible future scenario who has given up on and decimated humanity), who the author proposes has lost all faith in himself and doubts his former-allies' ability to ever have faith in him again.

Harry Potter

My Hero Academia

  • Cain: Pride, Wrath, and Envy are already three of the biggest sins that Katsuki suffers from, which only gets worse as he slowly slips into evil in the fic. But as he undergoes Sanity Slippage before eventually Jumping Off the Slippery Slope, Bakugou ends up showcasing a nasty combination of all seven.
    • Greed: Everything that would make him a great hero should be his, and his alone. And if anyone tries to take a piece of it, or if Bakugou so much as thinks they're doing this, then they'll be put in their place.
    • Lust: He craves the prestige of being the #1 Pro Hero and continues to desire more and more of it.
    • Gluttony: He eats up the positive attention endorsed by people around him, can't get enough of it, and refuses to share it with anyone else.
    • Sloth: While he does believe in hard work, he only focuses on what matters to him about heroes (strong and victorious) and neglects everything else (saving others, being kind, etc.). This is seen in how he simply destroys the trash with his Explosion Quirk for quick results, but All Might points out that all he did was make a bigger mess. This later screws him over by the time of the practical exam; he doesn't listen to the instructions due to his delusional paranoia about Izuku and acts overly destructive by eliminating the bots and then taking on the Zero-Pointer, which ends badly, leading him to get a score that's less than what he expects. At the same time, he's so incredibly assured of his own heroic, self-righteousness that the idea that he could or would be wrong is completely alien to him, and refuses to reflect or change his views all while being incredibly selective of how he sees reality.

My Little Pony

  • Fallout: Equestria's side story Starlight features incarnations of the seven sins, and seem to be inspired by the Homunculi from Fullmetal Alchemist. Notably, the incarnation of Sloth is Cranky Doodle Donkey as a Canterlot Ghoul.

One Piece

Super Mario Bros.

  • Clash of the Elements: According to Cackletta in Part 2, The Dark King's control over darkness stemmed from a balance between all seven of them, and that his death was caused because he succumbed to a few of them simultaneously. Alex's clone has revealed that he holds copies of the Genesis Samurai's spirits that each represent a different sin:

Total Drama

  • A deviant-artist portrayed seven of the original girls as the Seven Deadly Sins, with quite logical reasoning:
  • In Total Drama fanfic Monster Chronicles Cedric nicknames every contestant still in the game by the point of his arrival with the exceptions of Tyler and Cody with one of the sins due to the spell he accidentally sealed himself away with in Cody's mind with weakening with each of the sins committed within range of Cody. A major weakness of the seal is that it has to be constantly reset, but the resealing cannot be done properly within a 5 foot radius of another soul, leading to the events of the story.

Yu-Gi-Oh!

  • The original version of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Thousand Year Door had this with the Shadow Spawn and their mother the Shadow Queen.
    • Melissa is Sloth. She's a slacker and gets others to wait on her hand and foot. Her favorite card is Reshef the Dark Being, a creature who brainwashes other monsters to do its dirty work for it.
    • Kurtis is Lust. He's obsessed with Mai Kujaku/Mai Valentine, but also lusts after any attractive girl with a good body. His favorite card is Cyber Harpie Lady, an attractive female with bondage gear and a whip.
    • Tyson is Greed. He steals power from anyone he can. His favorite card is Infernal Incinerator, a creature who gains strength for each opposing monster, but loses strength for each ally it has, symbolizing an unwillingness to share.
    • Leopold is Pride. He thinks he's flawless and the smartest duelist who ever lived. His favorite card is Sengenjin, a creature who wanted to conquer the world in the past and is only willing to truly obey a true master of Earth.
    • Maria is Wrath. She has a Hair-Trigger Temper and would likely murder an opponent outright if she were allowed. Her favorite card is Crab Turtle, an incredibly bloodthirsty, wrathful being.
    • Vladimir is Envy. He wants to be better than any duelist, and sees strong duelists as rivals he must overcome. He's also jealous of ordinary duelists, because they can duel for fun, while he has had to use dueling as a weapon his whole life. His favorite card is Relinquished, a creature who is helpless on its own, but can steal power from others.
    • The Shadow Queen is Gluttony. She overindulges in food and trivial luxuries like hoards of toys she never even plays with. Her favorite card is Cosmo Queen, whose Deck Master ability lets her consume enemy souls.

  • In A.A. Pessimal's Discworld fic Hear Them Chatter on the Tide, the Discworld's Eight Deadly Sins turn up to thwart their rival gang, the Eight Graces. A heated debate follows on. With backing music.
  • Intrepid has a number of capes allied under the banner of the Sins. Current membership is:
    • Pride, the leader and founder. Like Eidolon, he is capable of picking between powers and is immune to most forms of precognition. Unlike Eidolon, he is in the service of Abbadon and is effectively acting as his avatar.
    • Greed, an inherited title that was co-opted from Butcher. Anyone who kills Greed gets their powers, the title, and the voices of all past Butchers and Greeds in their head. The current Greed is Elsa Levi, who was formerly a hero before being corrupted.
    • The current Sloth can set rules preventing people from acting. A past Sloth was Winter, who could slow minds and movement.
    • The current Envy, the third to hold that name, was once known as Ingeune. Her powers differ from canon; this particular version of her steals people's powers and drives them insane.
    • Gluttony. Can eat inanimate objects or people to temporarily gain their properties or powers.
    • Lust is the stepdaughter of King, who founded the Slaughterhouse Nine, and she has a similar power to him. At any time, she can use a person as a nexus to redirect any one type of damage to anyone she's touched in the last twelve hours. She is also an android with a morality setting of 10℅.
    • Wrath was known in canon as Bonesaw, although her method of operation is different. She prefers to wear various specialized bio-suits in an attempt to make people think she is a Changer. Past holders of the position include Crimson, Black Kaze, and many others.
  • Violet Thief Of The Hermit Core: The Bandits can summon different 'Vice Spirits' which assist them in battle by acting as support:
    • Laven gets Lucifer, the Vice of Pride.
    • Silas gets Behemoth, the Vice of Gluttony.
    • Evelyn gets Mammon, the Vice of Greed.
    • Lana gets Belphegor, the Vice of Sloth.
    • Jude gets Leviathan, the Vice of Envy.

    • Gen gets Amon, the Vice of Wrath.
    • Bertha gets Belial, the Vice of Despair.
    • The Big Bad is the only other character to get a Spirit. He gets Satan, the True Vice of Wrath.
  • Wailing Seven, a Pokemon fanfic whose premise is essentially what would happen if One Piece, The Seven Deadly Sins, and Pokémon all got in bed together and had a baby, features the main characters as each having one of these. Interestingly (and somewhat like 7DS above), the protagonists manage to both play their sin straight and subvert it at the same time. The Wailing Seven themselves are:
    • Beezle: A Drillbur who represents Gluttony. Naturally, he's a Big Eater- scratch that, a huge one- with a cheerful disposition and fun-loving personality. He will eat just about anything to the point that he flat-out considers being forced to eat rats, snakes, and toads to be an Unishment. Of course, Everyone Has Standards and even he won't eat his fellow crew members. Named for Beelzebub, and naturally due to this his favorite song is "Bohemian Rhapsody" note .
    • Belfee: A Psyduck who represents Sloth. He is carefree, lax, and chill, and will often procrasinate majorly to do things. However, he's also much cleverer than anyone gives him credit for and can improvise on the fly really well; he often will MacGyver weapons out of everyday objects without needing to really do anything. While the rest of the crew berates him for his procrasination, he will usually respond with "Mozart did it, and he made a masterpiece. Why can't I?" Named for Belphegor.
    • Levy: A Ralts who represents Envy. Shy, soft-spoken, and a giant Butt-Monkey, Levy has a deep desire to become a successful member of the Wailing Seven like the rest of his buddies. He has a lot of goals for himself, but often has crippling self-esteem that he can't possibly achieve those goals. This only fuels his envy, which only fuels his persistence. Named for Leviathan.
    • Mammo: A Sableye who represents Greed. Mischevious, snarky, and of course greedy as all get out- he is obsessed with currency and desires to get as much money as possible. Where the subversion comes in, of course, is why he's so greedy: he's poor, and needs money to sustain himself, his family, and the rest of the crew. Named for Mammon.
    • Asmodia: A Woobat who represents Lust. Naturally, Asmodia is a charmer.
