Warigami is an original series created by the CBC for their CBC Gem website. A brother and sister who were separated when they were really young reunite after learning that together, they have the power of Kamijin, to turn ordinary paper into a deadly weapon.
This series contains examples of:
- Book Ends: The first season starts and ends with Vincent in a bath robe while Mark watches some reality show on a couch.
- Orphan's Plot Trinket: Vincent and Wendy both have identical necklaces given to them when they were young. It's how Wendy reveals she's Vincent's brother, and introduces herself to her grandfather.
- Polar Opposite Twins: Vincent is laid-back. Wendy is uptight.
- Portmanteau
- The series name is one for "warrior" and "origami", representing that the Kamijin fight with the air of paper.
- In episode 3, Mark says "cunch", accidentally saying "coffee" and "lunch" together.
- Separated at Birth: Downplayed. Wendy's earliest memory is at age 4, with her brother. Then they were both placed in different homes.
- Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Vincent and Wendy work together reluctantly, him being a free-spirited thief and her being uptight but driven.
