Street Outlaws is an American reality television series that airs on the Discovery Channel and premiered on June 10, 2013. Street Outlaws explores the world of street racing in Oklahoma City where, after throwing out the top 10 list, the 405 competes in a high-speed, high-stakes qualifier for a chance to race in America’s List.

Street Outlaws provides examples of the following tropes:

  • Disqualification-Induced Victory: Approximately a tenth of the races end with the loser being disqualified for a rules violation and the winner taking victory because of that. The two most common rules broken are starting the race before the flagger indicates it's time to go and crossing the line between the cars.
  • Don't Try This at Home: The show has a rather tongue-in-cheek disclaimer:
Just because we're dumbasses don't mean you can be too. So, don't do any of this bleep that we do at home.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Early on, most of the drivers were known by a code name of some sort (Big Chief, Daddy Dave, Dominator), but this has been relaxed as the show goes on. Justified in that these are real people being shown doing illegal things. The relaxing part comes from the races moving to controlled conditions.
  • What a Piece of Junk: The Farm Truck looks like a beat-up 1970 Chevrolet C-10 that actually does look like a farm truck. However, it's actually a highly tuned drag racer capable of outaccelerating a supercar. Downplayed in that it rarely is able to win against the other cars on the show.
