An American Crime drama that follows bike officers (Jim Davidson, Darlene Vogel, Paula Trickey, Marcos Ferraez, David Lander, and Rick Rossovich) who patrol the beaches of Santa Monica.

The show also featured Shanna Moakler, Amy Hunter, Jeff Stearns, and Mario Lopez.

It aired for five seasons on USA Network.

Tropes for the series:

  • Addled Addict: T C develops a painkiller addiction after being shot midway through Season 5, mostly to cope with his separation from Chris. It gets worse and worse, culminating in him going to detox and rehab in the series finale.
  • Alliterative Title:
    • Blood for Blood.
    • Avenging Angels.
    • Cruz Control.
    • Save Serenity.
    • God's Gift.
  • Benevolent Architecture: The show has this trope in spades. Not only did Santa Monica have a strange abundance of drivers that don't mind Bike Policeman and women skitching their cars, it seems that very alleyway in the city has a plywood ramp, some of which seem to teleport out of nowhere.
  • Breast Expansion: An episode had teen girls dying because they were having silicone injected into their breasts to make them bigger, with the help of a disgraced former plastic surgeon. They were financing it by stealing cars. Truth in Television: in the early days of plastic surgery, this method of breast augmentation was somewhat common, and obviously quite deadly, yet it didn't stop anyone from trying. Yes, it was that important to them.
  • Buried Alive: In one episode, T.C. is buried in an RV with a phone that can only take incoming calls, and a time bomb/escape-rigged gas canister.
  • Commuting on a Bus: Chris appears less and less in Season 5, as she transfers to the Robbery Homicide Division since she feels her career is going nowhere as a bike patrolwoman.
  • Corrupt Cop: Corey’s elder brother was ripping off drug dealers to enrich himself. Corey convinces him to stop and quit the force.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Granger used to be part of a gang of rivetheads before cleaning up his act. Lt. Palermo is haunted by his time as a homicide detective.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: The motivation for the lead flight instructor setting up Chris to crash her fighter and then grounding her. He says, “I want my pilots thinking about wind shear, ordnance and instrumentation. Not how they’re going to bang the female lieutenant in the ready room with them.”
  • Girls Behind Bars: One episode had a guest appearance of WWE's Sable, with Chris going undercover into the prison and Sable playing the head bitch. Yes, there is a shower scene, and a couple different catfight scenes.
  • In the Blood: Corey comes from a multi-generational family of cops. Her grandfather, father and brother, all served in the SMPD.
    • Chris’s dad Brolin Jurgenson was a naval aviator in the Vietnam War, thereby inspiring her to become one too.
  • One-Word Title:
    • Pilot.
    • Takedown.
    • Heatwave.
    • Burnout.
    • Daystalker.
    • Rapscallions.
    • Bangers.
    • Undercover.
    • Runaway.
    • Rumplestiltskin
    • Sandman.
    • Sisters.
    • Caretakers.
    • Seduced.
    • Users.
    • Overkill.
    • Infierno.
    • Stargazer.
    • Juvies.
    • Trust.
    • Reckoning.
    • Gaslight.
    • Disrobed.
    • Betrayal.
    • Kidnapped.
    • Snafu.
  • Rank Up: T C makes Sergeant by Season 3 and then makes Lieutenant, taking over command from Palermo in Season 5. The last season also has Corey make Sergeant.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Occurred in Season 5. Granger replaced T C (who had ranked up) as the white male extreme sports aficionado. Bobby Cruz replaced Victor as the Latino By-the-Book Cop. Subverted by Monica Harper whose only similarity to Chris is that she is blonde.
  • SWAT Team: Both T C and Victor are SWAT qualified. They get to display their tactical skills once in a while.
  • They Do: T C and Chris begin a secret relationship just around when T C makes Sergeant. They have a Vegas wedding in Season 5’s pilot episode.
  • You Are Grounded!: Chris Kelly used to be a Naval Aviator until she claims that her eyesight deteriorated. In a later episode, it is revealed that while she was attending TOPGUN, the lead instructor intentionally set her up to lose control of her F-14 and crash, thereby giving him the pretext to ground her permanently.
