Kitchen (Russian: Кухня, Kukhnya) is a Russian comedy series created by "Yellow,Black and White studio" and "Key Stone production" ordered by STS TV channel in October 22, 2012. The show focuses on the comedic events that unfold in a fictional restaurant in Moscow called "Claude Monet".

The series is set in Moscow and mainly focuses on the young and enthusiastic Maxim "Max" Lavrov, who dreams of becoming a renowned chef one day, so after finishing culinary college in his home town of Voronezh and completing his army service, he goes to work at Moscow's most expensive restaurant - "Claude Monet", whose owner is Dmitry Nagiev, a famous Russian actor.


This show provides examples of:

  • The Alcoholic: Victor Barinov second main flaw. Often drinks at work, comes drunk, and appears on screen after a hangover
  • Angry Chef: Victor Barinov, very hot-blooded chef who constantly yells at his team
  • As Himself: Dmitry Nagiev, famous Russian actor, plays… Dmitry Nagiev, famous Russian actor and also "Claude Monet" owner
  • Badass Crew : The chef's elite consists of chef itself, Lyova, Senya, Fedya and Louie. Max joins the team later

  • Compulsive Liar: main character Max is pathological liar. He lies to everyone, especially to Vika and Sasha.
  • In-Series Nickname : Chief always calls Max "Rump" from the start of the series. In " Kitchen in Paris" movie reveals that chef was called "rump" by his father
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Victor Barinov, despite his anger, he truly loves his team and his daughter's
  • Food Fight: Chef constantly throwing food at his cooks
    • The food fight scene between cook's and waiters in episode 31
  • Speech Impediment: Lyova, the sous chef stutters when speaking. Temporally spoke normally in episode 54
  • Sticky Fingers: Senya always steals food from the kitchen. Everyone is aware of this, but throughout the series he was not fired for it
