Red, Yellow, Blue, Pink and... another Yellow?!
Enban Sensou Bankid is a Sentai-style Toku series made by Toho.A team consisting of four teenagers and one young boy are assembled by scientist Dr. Uzaki to do battle against the Bukimi Aliens, a race of sinister invades who plot to invade the Earth and relocate their species there.
The series aired for 26 episodes in 1976-1977 and was an obvious attempt by Toho to cash in on the success of Himitsu Sentai Gorenger, which was airing at the time. It's also notable for the fact that veteran character designer Tohl Narita (who also designed Ultraman and Ultraseven) designed most of the Monster of the Week.
The Bankids:
- Noboru Tenma; / Bankid Pegasus (red): The Leader. A mountain climber who is also the tutor of Ryuuichi and Junji.
- Ryuuichi Uzaki / Bankid Dragon (yellow): The Lancer. Eldest son of the Uzaki family and older brother of Junji. Teases his younger brother, but won't let any harm come to him.
- Junji Uzaki / Bankid Rabbit (also yellow): Tagalong Kid and Kid-Appeal Character. The second son of the Uzaki family and Ryuuichi's younger brother.
- Jiro Ushijima / Bankid Ox (blue): The Big Guy. The proud muscle of the team.
- Honoka Shiratori / Bankid Swan (pink): The Heart, as well as the team's data analyst and code breaker.
