The Rounderpede
"Come closer, Wanderer! Don't let the pincers fool you, I don't biteā€¦ wait, you're not a Jailor, are you?"
  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: Exaggerated. The Rounderpede is a massive insect of apparently infinite length.
  • Eldritch Abomination: The Rounderpede has lived for an unknown amount of time, though it is known that he predates most modern Wanderers. Additionally, it is implied that he is near-omniscient and has perfect knowledge of the Library.
  • Monstrous Mandibles: Surrounding his mouth is a multitude of monstrous mandibles.
  • Time Abyss: He has been around since time immemorial, keeping the library in working order.

Professor Anton Volek

"Why settle for the mundane when you can have the extraordinary?"

Dr. Morgan James Marsh

"Cursebreaking, demon-slaying, necromantic and demonological consultation services available. Rates variable dependent upon challenge, soulmass, and existential risk. Inquire at Office 6, Exploratory Investigative Department, Planasthai."
  • The Archmage: He has spent more than a century digging into secrets, many of them magical.
  • Evil Sorcerer: Dr. Marsh is explicitly stated to be a dark sorcerer.
  • Intrepid Reporter: He's an investigative reporter with the Planasthai Press.

Creatures

Archivists
  • Fate Worse than Death: Those who have broken the rules of the Library are sentenced to be turned into a Librarian.
  • Eyeless Face: They have no eyes, yet they know where every book in the library is located.
  • I Know Your True Name: Archivists distribute library cards and have knowledge of your true name, allowing them to know where you are at all times, as well as what books you have.

Pages

  • Spider Limbs: They have anywhere from six to ten arms.
  • Wall Crawl: Pages use their excessive amounts of arms to climb shelves in the Library and reshelve the books.

The Docents

  • Epic Flail: Docents have a chain growing from where their left hand should be, connected to a lantern that never goes dim.
  • One-Man Army: In Dr. Tilda Moose's presentation on magic, she says that one Docent can take out an entire Foundation paramilitary team. That is to say, it is equal to a team of highly trained, specialized forces armed with the best weapons the Foundation can give them.
  • No Mouth: They have no mouth.
