The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is a 2024 High Fantasy epic anime film and a spin-off of The Lord of the Rings film franchise based upon the books by J. R. R. Tolkien. It is directed by Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex), written by Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou, animated by Sela Entertainment, and stars the voices of Brian Cox and Miranda Otto. Original trilogy screenwriter Philippa Boyens produces.Set 200 years before the events of The Hobbit, the film will follow the Rohan King Helm Hammerhand as he leads his army in an epic battle for survival. The film will release December 13, 2024.
