- Merlin-1 is one of those worlds that you really don't think is that crazy until you really start to understand it. At normal glance, it doesn't feel too similar to any other Urban Fantasy setting, albeit one where there's not really any sort of Masquerade. Sort of like The Sixth World, if the cyberpunk was swapped out for more modern trappings, right?
- Noooooooooo. It's been 60 years since the fateful day when magic was introduced to the world, and much has changed. Steel has been phased out in favor of enchanted stone as the primary building material. No one learns first aid because you can get much the same effect with a Healing Potion. Flying Carpets are the preferred method of stealth insertion. The list goes on and on
- In America, top-secret magical research has cracked the code to dimensional travel. Not only has this led to a fiasco with Infinity, it's what ultimately led to the world's place among the Pantheon. It turns out one too many magical mishaps can lead to great things.
- Darling-kun's companions are, surprisingly, at home here thanks to the population including similar forms of Cute Monster Girl; it's nice to see somewhere where such people are treated more or less normally by the general populace.
- Deities who utilize Summon Magic will inevitably be convicted of aiding in illegal border crossing, should they use such powers here due to demons (and other extraplanar spirits) being classified as persons, but considered citizens of whatever plane of existence they come from.

The Unker Non-Linear Writing System, or UNLWS for short, is a Conlang developed by Alex Fink and Sai in 2010. The conlang is notable for its unique system of writing: Rather than being a transcription of spoken language, UNLWS is intended entirely as a writing system; it cannot be "spoken" at all. Ideas are expressed not through discrete sentences, but through a series of interconnected glyphs. There's no specific order glyphs are to be read in.
