  • Huepow is a spirit who lives inside the wind ring, a magical object that allows its bearer to inflate mooks. Klonoa met him while walking in the woods one day, and they've been best friends ever since. Except... that was all a lie. He's actually the humanoid prince of Cress, the long-hidden Moon Kingdom, who summoned Klonoa from another world and gave him fake memories so he could save Phantomile from Ghadius' nightmares. However, during their adventure, he grew attached to Klonoa, and felt horribly guilty when he told him the truth. When Klonoa was forcibly sucked out of Phantomile, Huepow was on the verge of tears.
  • Huepow was chosen to represent Platforming Pocket Pal because because he disappears into the wind ring during gameplay, allowing him to stay with Klonoa at all times. He used to be Klonoa's herald, so naturally they reunited after Huepow ascended. Their history had been an Elephant in the Living Room for a while, even though Klonoa had long since come to accept his role as the Dream Traveller. Huepow's ascension gave them a chance to talk things through with each other. Despite how much they've changed, they still agree that Joka is their enemy. When they learned he was causing trouble in the Pantheon, they teamed up to stop him.
  • Huepow had never met the King of Sorrow before the Pantheon, but Klonoa had. They have a lot in common: they're both royals from a long-hidden kingdom with a blue and gold colour scheme, and the Kingdom of Sorrow is called Hyuponia. They have so much in common, in fact, that some interpret the King as the embodiment of Klonoa's sorrow about being forced out of Phantomile. Regardless of whether this is true or not, the King of Sorrow regarded Huepow with suspicion at first, but they eventually bonded over their similarities.
  • Lenna was horrified when she learned about what Huepow did to Klonoa. Despite his repentance and best intentions, she just can't forgive him. It's eerily similar to what Delvin did to her — altering her memories and then manipulating her because he thought it would save the kingdom, but instead only corrupting it more. Similarly, Shadow the Hedgehog thought he had fake memories at one point, so he's wary of Huepow.
  • Naturally, Huepow gets along with moon-related deities. He especially sympathises with Princess Luna, who was sealed away in the moon, much like how the Moon Kingdom was sealed off from the rest of Phantomile for a long time. Plus, just like Klonoa, Luna can enter dreams. Usagi, or Sailor Moon, is also the heir of a moon kingdom, though in her case, she didn't know about it until later in life. Huepow also gets along with Nebby's Lunala form despite not having any powers over the moon; she just happens to have the aesthetic. He doesn't take kindly to Dr. Eggman, who once blew up half the moon, or the entity possessing Majora's Mask, who tried to crash the moon into Termina.
  • The world of Phantomile is made of its inhabitants' dreams. Every night, they're all channelled through a crystal in the Moon Kingdom, which causes people to forget them when they wake up. Ghadius tried to corrupt this crystal so he could turn the world into a living nightmare. As a result, Huepow is enemies with all nightmare-related deities, such as Nightmare Moon and Wizeman. Special mention goes to Dream Land's Nightmare, whose high priest is Ghadius and who was responsible for Joka's ascension.
  • Huepow has a lot in common with Naminé and Shūkurō Tsukishima. Naminé was forced to alter Sora's memories to make him think she was his childhood friend instead of Kairi, who she was a clone of. She hates using her powers, and eventually restored Sora's memories to normal, but he had to forget all about her as a side-effect. Shūkurō is the God of Fake Memories, and used to use his powers to mess with people, but eventually reformed and felt remorse for his actions.
  • On a lighter note, Klonoa encouraged Huepow to seek out other gods who share his trope. Sparx really is Spyro's childhood friend, and they've been together for all their adventures. While Huepow allows Klonoa to attack, he's interested in how Sparx has an even more important role: magically taking damage for Spyro.
  • Cream the Rabbit is never seen without her pet, Cheese the Chao, who's also a rounded, floating, cyan creature. As a result, she was fascinated by Huepow because she mistook his spirit form for a chao. He explained that he wasn't, but Cream thinks he's cute. His humanoid form... less so.
