A pair of characters - almost always male - consisting of a Hunk and a Pretty Boy, two contrasting ideations of masculine beauty. They can be rivals, friends, family, lovers and so on; their appearances often play into different internal characteristics as well. The rugged Hunk may be the more power-oriented of the two, or more blunt or withdrawn.

- Guilty Gear: Sol Badguy is the Hunk to Ky Kiske's Pretty Boy. Sol is a gruff, muscular, and impersonal loner who's fighting style is about raw power and aggression. Ky meanwhile is sentimental, refined and slender with an elegantly balanced fighting style that requires patience and flexibility. The two have gone from heated rivals to vitriolic allies over the course of the series.
