Tropes applying to both of them:
- Composite Character: In-Universe. Eclipse is the merged and first being of the Daycare Attendant with Sundrop and Moonrise being deviating personalities. Out of universe, the Eclipse character from Balloon World has become part of the Daycare Attendant character.
- Decomposite Character: Averted at first but played straight later on. In the beginning, Sundrop and Moonrise are two beings in the same body like in canon. After an attempted Split-Personality Takeover by Moonrise, Sundrop forcefully splits the two of them into separate bodies and turning them both into completely separate entities.
- Literal Split Personality: Sundrop and Moonrise post-separation, both being splits off of Eclipse.
- Meaningful Name: Lux means Light, referring to both daytime and Sundrop's obsession with keeping the lights on; Nox means Night, referring to nighttime and darkness, the two elements that Moonrise works best in; Antumbra is "[the] part of the Moon's shadow that extends beyond the umbra" best seen during an annular eclipse, which is what Eclipse is.

- Split-Personality Takeover: He attempted one on Sundrop. Key word being attempted. He ended up as his own being in his own body as a result, which didn't appear to be so bad, until Sundrop beat the everloving scrap out of him.
