We're a League of Heroes is a Play-by-Post Game hosted on the TV Tropes Forum started by The Gamechanger on October 28, 2019, running until 2020 when it quietly drifted to a halt.
The basic premise of the story is about a Super Team in a modern fantasy world dealing against evil forces. It serves as a reboot to the defunct League of Villains and World of Supers threads.
The main RP can found here.
This roleplay provides examples of…
- Animal Superheroes: Glass, a mutant glass frog man, and Bucky, a robot mole.
- Breaking the Fourth Wall: "Teal" compliments Elise on realizing the value of focusing on utility spells, specifically contrasting it to her World of Supers incarnation which had no utility magic at all — Elise finds this unsettling and asks it not to do so again.
- Changing Clothes Is a Free Action: Elise is a justified example, using her magical abilities to literally change outfits with the snap of a finger.
- Fire-Breathing Diner: Discussed when Elise tries the Devil's Wake-Up Call; she asks if she's breathing fire because the spice certainly makes her feel like she's breathing fire. Teal questions whether that's a real thing that happens, but Elise points out that literal magic is involved (since she's a Magical Girl Warrior), so it's not impossible.
- Frog Men: Glass Frog, a human who was mutated into an anthropomorphic frog.
- It Was a Dark and Stormy Night: The RP started out with the protagonists in a log cabin on a dark rainy night.
- Playing Both Sides: As in World of Supers, "teal" is in contact with both Elise and Adrien and playing them against each other to its own inscrutable ends.
- Robot Buddy: Bucky, a robotic mole and member of the superhero team.
- Share the Male Pain: Shieru visibly flinches after seeing Det. GC get a loose floorboard between the legs, and Elise takes a moment to reflect that she's glad not to have that weakness anymore.
- Super Team: As the title implies, the protagonists of the roleplay are a collection of various specially-powered individuals, banding together to fight various threats to society.
- The Quiet One: Trevor, a blonde man who is seen hanging around with the main group but rarely interacts with them.
- Utility Magic: When not in combat, Elise uses her magical powers for such tasks as changing clothes with a snap of her fingers and repairing damage from a tree that fell on the cabin.
