''The Grand Heist II'' is a the 2016 sequel to the previous campaign The Grand Heist. GMed by Peep295, the campaign uses the D&D 5e System while incorporating many homebrew elements.

The campaign picks up 100 years after the previous, and continues to take place in Yale City, a original High Fantasy Constructed World, with Steampunk elements. The plot and setting take inspiration from a variety of works including Bioshock Infinite, World of Warcraft, and The Legend of Korra. The story primarily follows six adventurers, as they face threats both internal and external.

Prequel sessions for the 6 main characters are here.

This works contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Bilingual Backfire: Lady Colandra may have understood Rowan's curse
  • Crapsack World: Because that's the kind of story we like.
  • Debut Queue: Every character has an individual session before they all meet up in the first group session
    • Val saved Aletheia Ondolirë from being murdered at a 100 year celebration of King Tris's coronation
    • Morgan lived through a traumatic nightmare, got hired to kill Aletheia Ondolirë, and subsequently got caught.
    • Clem rescued a baby intellect devourer and almost murdered Caspian Marsk on accident.
    • Rowan meets the jerkass Lady Colandra and then investigates the disappearance of another shifter.
    • Riley also meets the jerkass Lady Colandra, this time on a doomed cruise ship. She then meets the same smoke monster that is in Morgan's nightmares.
    • Lenna meets the less jerkass wife of Lady Colandra, and she sacrifices herself to save Lenna from an assassination. Lenna later saves a crowd of people at a protest.
  • Death Is Dramatic: The death of Eury Colandra in Lenna's individual session. I guess Anyone Can Die in this campaign.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Val's individual session introduced many NPCs who will likely become important later, given that they were named
    • Morgan's introduced a few NPCs who will probably become important later. Morgan was an antisocial idiot and didn't ask their names.
    • Clem's mostly elaborated on Bjorn II and Caspian Marsk's personalities.
    • Rowan's introduced several NPCs who will also likely become important.
    • Riley's introduced the Marsk parents and Spitzwocket "Mechi" Mechitorque, as well as bringing back Lady Colandra.
  • Freudian Slip: Rowan yelling "And fuck you for not waiting" at Colandra might have revealed more than she intended about her attitude towards Cass
  • Grappling-Hook Pistol: Tanna's was not functional in Val's intro session
  • Hostile Weather: Cold and nasty rainstorm that occurred when Eury died
  • Inertial Dampening: Lenna's Slow Fall ability off the floating island
  • Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: A test of Riley's Undercommon
  • Show Within a Show: Reenactments of the events from the first campaign at the 100 year coronation festival in the second campaign
  • Sliding Scale of Idealism Versus Cynicism: From idealistic to cynical
    • Rowan
    • Val
    • Clem
    • Lenna
    • Riley
    • Morgan
  • Teleportation Sickness: Rowan. Twice.
  • There Are No Therapists: At least some of the characters could use one, though cough Morgan cough
    • Thanks to Aster, there is actually Puppy based therapy.
  • Weaponized Teleportation: Just a slight spite teleport for Rowan
