Roleplay / Moonrise

Go To

Moonrise is a Warrior Cats-based roleplay taking place in an alternate universe to the official books. Ten Clans exist in the Moonrise world, along with a militaristic city-living rogue group and a Colony of feral cats that live with a less organized and more wild nature.

Six large areas have been present over the course of the roleplay's history, those being the Forest, the Lake, the Mountains, the Desert, the Shaded Woods, and the City. Each of those areas typically had a four-Clan maximum, with the Mountains' and Shaded Woods' Clan total never exceeding two, and the City has only ever had one.

The Desert and Shaded Woods are no longer present, and currently, the active Clans are FlameClan, BrokenClan, WoodClan, and MistClan in the Forest; CliffClan and SnowClan in the Mountains; ReedClan, ThistleClan, SpringClan, and HeatherClan in the Lake; And finally, The Legion in the City. The Colony lives in the forest outskirts and is not considered a Clan at all.

The roleplay has existed since April of 2013, and is still open to this day, having a member base of over 2,000.

[Moonrise] contains examples of:

  • Abusive Parent: A few cats are like this, notably Maplestorm of FlameClan, who despised and abused her daughter, Streamkit, even purposefully trying to starve her to death, simply because she looked like someone Maplestorm disliked.

  • Action Girl: Many of the she-cats are just as strong, if not stronger than, the toms. In fact, at one point in time, literally every single Clan leader was female- in fact, most of both FlameClan's leaders have all been female, most notably Robinstar, Dovestar, Skullstar, and Rowanstar.

  • Action Mom: There are quite a few examples of this. Many mothers retain their badassery even when raising kits- one notable example is Skullstar, who went into a rage and attacked and exiled Heathernose and Crowstripe when the former attacked her 3-month-old son, Reedkit, who later died from his injuries.

  • Anyone Can Die: Many characters have died over the course of the roleplay's history, including characters with major impacts on the Clans or had large mini-plots regarding them.

  • Cruel and Unusual Death: There are multiple examples of this, but the most prominent is Shadestar's death, as she was brutally killed by Tigerheart through being ripped open and torn to shreds. Even worse considering Tigerheart was a literal tiger.

  • Dark and Troubled Past: Many characters have this, in fact it's almost rare for someone not to have a dark past.

  • Dark Action Girl: Most of the female BrokenClan leaders, especially Shadestar and Timestar.

  • Missing Mom: Tigerheart and Pheasantstrike left their kits behind when leaving the Clans after the Great War.
