The Kingdom is an original urban-fantasy collaborative RPG/fiction project. The plot centers around the descendants of the prehistoric Geldon Kingdom, who wield their elemental magics to combat the supernatural evils that threaten the world, or at least those of them that show up in Sunset City California.
Stories, or "logs", take any form. Prose is the most popular format, but play-by-post roleplays and comics are also used.

- Action Girl: Pick a female on the cast. Odds are, she kicks serious ass.
- All There in the Manual: The Kingdom portal page explains the storyline and game mechanics for newcomers.
- Alternate Universe Fic: The writers at Kingdom love alternate universe and continuities and give them almost as much love as the main storyline.
- "Breaking My F***ing Heart" - The aftermath of an epic battle set about a decade ahead of the main storyline
- Dark Future - The government learns of the existence of Hunters and is none too pleased about it
- Noir AU - Non-powered series in vein of the Noir Episode.
- Bandom - Another non-powered variant with the characters rocking out
- Geldon-on-the-Severn - The cast goes Jane Austen, with all that implies.
- Anachronic Order: Logs aren't created in any specific order and may jump decades into the future or the past. The campaigns page on the portal helps make some sense of the timeline.
- Ascended Meme: El Combito, a mythic Mexican whom even Chuck Norris fears.
- Bad Future: The aptly-named Dark Future AU
- The "Breaking My F***ing Heart" series
- Beautiful All Along: Jane. To be fair, the character starts as an awkward 16-year-old.
- Body Snatcher: One of Rufus' trademarks
- Break the Cutie: All the writers seem to enjoy tormenting their characters. Gryle in particular seems incapable letting his characters having anything good happen to them without some kind of negative backlash.
- Break the Haughty: In-universe, Irving does this to his students.
- Cityof Adventure: Man, there sure are lot of daemons in Sunset City.
- Justified by the inexperienced Hunters accidentally opening a seal.
- Chronic Hero Syndrome: Deon suffers from a bad case of this.
- Cursed with Awesome: Being Alchemists, Alice and Irving have enormous stategic and tactical usefulness against daemons, but neither enjoy the potentially-dangerous-to-those-around-me aspect of their abilities.
- Alice, in particular, dislikes being a living supernatural poison generator due to her innate desire to heal those around her.
- Deadpan Snarker: Predominantly, Irving, Deon, and Mara, but nearly all the cast gets in a good snark at one point or another.
- Dismantled MacGuffin: A living variant, in the Purity Princess.
- Drowning My Sorrows: Pretty standard reaction for Deon, Mara, and Irving. Something about alcohol and snark just seems to go together.
- Elemental Powers: Played with. The "splats" are earth, water, air, weather, energy. Each Hunter or Guardian controls a certain aspect of an element, rather than the entirety of the elment itself. "Fire", for example, is a sub-splat of "Energy"
- Everyone Can See It: Deon and Mara. Unfortunately they have a raging case of Belligerent Sexual Tension.
- Alice and Peter also fit this.
- Fictional Document: The El Combito comic books, the works of Bridget von Brandt
- Ignorant of the Call: The majority of the characters don't understand why they have powers or comprehend the relationship between daemons and Geldon.
- Though with the introduction of the relic in Bargain-Bin Hentai, Cosplay, and Other Scary Things, the characters are beginning to get a grasp on their origins.
- Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Max.
- In the Dark Future AU, he borders on a Jerk with a Heart of Gold, but then again, it's in his best interests to keep the feds from locking up Hunters.
- Karmic Trickster: Irving's mellowed somewhat since he became a father.
- Manic Pixie Dream Girl: Loni and Alice.
- Nessa, too, though she leans more towards Hard-Drinking Party Girl at times.
- Memetic Mutation: In-universe, Irving becomes increasingly Shrouded in Myth as the years go on eventually gaining a reputation as a full on Mad Scientist. This log goes into more detail.
- Bob and El Combito (see Ascended Meme above) started out an in-joke between the writers on the forums.
- Meta Origin: The eponymous Kingdom
- Moe: Jane. Full stop.
- Brian borders on this as well.
- Noodle Incident: Several of Irving's past stunts, including "The Great Pigeon Rampage"
- The fact that a few logs get abandoned mid-way through means that there are quite a few of these floating around.
- Papa Wolf: Go ahead and threaten Melanie. See how long it takes for Irving to completely ruin your day.
- Refusal of the Call: Max would much prefer a nap to fighting evil.

Stoic Woobie: Reddell - Superhero Speciation: For the most part no two Hunters or Guardians share the same power-set. The closest is Irving (electromagnetic radiation) and Paris (magnetism). Due in part to the way magic works in the game (see Elemental Powers entry above)
