IAS is an roleplay group focusing on visual arts and story in DeviantArt. The story takes place in a world similar to our own's in the modern day. In this world, All Myths Are True, and supernatural beings very much exists. However, due the chaos and unwanted situation that could be caused by this, World Government decides to uphold The Masquerade while slowly attempting to make people accept the supernatural.

It tells the story of the newly-founded Aurum Investigation Agency for the Supernatural, an agency filled with various people of various backgrounds who all had a supernatural ability, called 'Ability Users'. The agency deals with cases that are suspected to be of supernatural nature that normal Law Enforcement personnel cannot solve by normal means.

The very detailed World Setting and Story can be found Here.

Starting in 2014, the story is still on-going and had just finished the fifth chapter of it's story. IAS is still open for new members to join.

The group is handled by SunEmperor, TheOrangeCaptain, and SparkleMage, with them roleplaying the Grandmaster and Master agents of the Aurum.

Tropes that apply to this roleplay are:

  • All Myths Are True: And while the majority of the otherworldly beings chooses to stay away from humans, some of them lives and blends in with humans.
  • Alternate History: Supernatural happenings and beings has affected human's world since the start of civilization, detailed in the World Setting and Story.
  • Badass: All of the agents are capable of being this.
  • Beach Episode: Chapter IV, aptly titled 'The Caribbean Retreat'.
  • Breather Episode: Between the intense Chapter III and Chapter V, Chapter IV is definitely this.
  • Blessed with Suck / Cursed with Awesome: The Ability Users all have potentially useful and powerful abilities, but with how Ability Users are treated in society...
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Some of the agents can be this. The most notable examples is the Grandmaster and Master Agents of Aurum, each with their own quirkiness.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: A lot of the agents, ranging from being a shut-in to actually being a member of The Mafia.
  • Darker and Edgier: Chapter V has been the most intense chapter so far.
  • Fantastic Racism: Between humans and the supernatural, and between humans and ability users.
  • Humans Are Bastards: Generally, Muggles are not very fond of supernatural. Ability Users are often treated like a lesser human being and made as outcasts. The Witch Burning of the middle ages? The so-called 'witches' are all actually ability users.
  • Government Agency of Fiction: The Investigation Agency of Supernatural Affairs and Investigation Agency of Human Affairs.
  • Multinational Team : The agents all come from various countries and ethnicity. Justified in that it is an international agency after all.
  • Occult Detective: The agency agents are all people with special ability whose job was to investigate various paranormal and supernatural happenings in the world.
  • Paranormal Investigation: The whole point.
  • Wham Episode: Chapter III, where the agents discover that there's people out there targeting and experimenting on Ability Users.
