Bullet Time is a series of Tumblr roleplays based on the Danganronpa universe. It consists of Super Bullet Time 2, which was completed and ended in July of 2013, and Ultimate Bullet Time 3, which started in July of 2013 and petered out in 2014 before it could finish.

Warning: all spoilers are unmarked.

Bullet Time and its sequels contains examples of:

  • Accidental Murder: Oten is killed after drinking a friendship potion with Senjo, which was poisoned by an unknown traitor. However, because Senjo was the one to give him the cup, Monobear declares that he's guilty.
  • Alpha Bitch: Zig-zagged with Himawari. She acts superior to most of her classmates and viciously bullies Kohaku, but at the same time suffers from a crippling inferiority complex which causes her to lash out.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Monobear's motive for Chapter 3 was that he'd grant the killer their heart's desire. Of course, the fact that revealed a list of terms the size of a phone book immediately afterwards put a damper on the temptation for the students... most of them, at least.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Sato, that little kid with the big Innocent Blue Eyes and the rabbit on his blazer? Busy digging up as much dirt on you as possible, and he really doesn't care how you feel about it.
  • Brother–Sister Incest: Kohaku reveals that she was intimately involved with her brother. However, as it's heavily implied that he bullied Kohaku, the relationship was more than likely against her will.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Keiji feels a constant urge to spread joy and solve others problems himself.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: After striking up a relationship with Kazuya, Aya begins feeling irritated when he talks to other girls, but her jealousy seems to go further.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Aya's parents were emotionally-distant researchers obsessed with survival skills, who treated Aya as a lab rat from birth. Eventually, she was forced to fight for her life amongst over two dozen other children, many of whom died, including the sole child she could call a friend. Aya rallied the survivors to escape her parents' facility, but lost all of them in the ensuing struggle. After that, she abandoned society for the wilderness until an encounter with a travelling circus rekindled her hope in humanity.
  • Disappeared Dad:
    • Kaede's father walked out on the family when his wife's condition became terminal.
    • Himawari's ran off with another woman when Himawari was three. Her mother's death forced her to go live with him again.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: When Yomi meets Ebisu, his combination of a bandana, earring, and pet parrot lead her to believe that he's a pirate. It takes a while for him to convince her that he's not, because A) the fact that he doesn't have a ship just means that Monobear is hiding it somewhere to prevent their escape, and B) of course a pirate would say that!
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: Aya has a small scar on the right side of her lip, which she presumably gained while being raised in her parents' lab.
  • Hellbent For Leather: Kimiko wears a black leather jacket with gold emblems embroidered on the shoulders, as well as leather gloves.
  • Heroic BSoD: After Kimiko's execution, Yomi destroyed her beloved sentai DVDs and retreated into her cabin. Her icon gained Hidden Eyes; her character page went from a yellow background and upbeat music to a black background and a sad song; and everyone but Kimiko on her relationships page dropped down to a single heart.
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Not a single corrupt thought passes through or leaves Keiji's mind.
  • In Love with Love: Even though most of Kaede's relationships have ended in disaster, she's obsessed with romance.
  • Jackass Genie: When Kimiko Kitano commits murder with the intention of wishing her friends off the island, he says he'll comply... but then refuses, saying that a true friend would never desire to take her friends off such a lovely island! To rub salt in the wound, he proceeds to execute her with her own car, which she'd been searching for since they arrived on the island.
  • Knight Templar: Kimiko; to get her closest friends - Aya, Kazuya, and Yomi - off the island, she killed two students and was willing to send the rest to their deaths by framing Nobu as the murderer. She even endangered Kazuya and Aya to provide an excuse for why she wouldn't have rigged the stage.
  • Lack of Empathy: Sato is stated to have felt no remorse about sending his parents to jail, and treats the murders of his classmates more like a game.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • "Kimiko" literally means Empress, but somehow, nobody has made the connection that she's the infamous underground racer of the same name.
    • "Jaya" means "victory", as well as being just one letter off from the stage name of a famous Indian daredevil.
  • Murder by Mistake: Momoko had every intention of killing Yuko, but through a careless fluke she also killed Marlowe, the one person she intended to protect.
  • Never Suicide: Kohaku's body was discovered after Kotoha's (which had been stabbed with a pair of her unique scissors) in the beach house showers, with an electrical cord around her neck. Many of the students initially suspected this - that someone had stolen the scissors to kill Kotoha and then posed Kohaku's body to make them think she'd committed suicide - only for it to be averted.
  • No Social Skills: Yomi isn't mean, but she does have a habit of talking over others, quickly stops paying attention to anything she finds boring, and can be rather stubborn if she's already made up her mind about something.
  • Public Execution: All of the students who happen to be alive are forced to watch the executions of the murderers.
  • The Spock: Aya approaches her interactions with other people from a more logical standpoint, such as buying and intently studying books on how to make friends.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Keiji strictly eats bowls full of a variety of fruits.
  • You Watch Too Much X: Yumi's idea of how high school is supposed to work comes entirely from Sentai programs, and so she's shocked when her classmates don't immediately join forces to defeat Monobear.
