- In About Scout, Scout tells Sam, "My dad's nuts. Totally nuts. And nasty. He's kind of like that guy from the oil movie." When Sam says, "What oil movie?" Scout shouts, "You know, he'll DRINK HER MILKSHAKE!"
- The Colbert Report: Smaug from the The Hobbit trilogy guest-stars in a sketch promoting the theatrical release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, and when boasting about how badass he is he shouts "I'LL DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE!"
- Wacky Game Jokez, 4 Kidz!'s fourth episode, "Mario Vs Sonic" contains a near shot for shot reenactment of the original movie's ending scene, except with Mickey the Dick dressed as Mario and Eric dressed as Sonic in Daniel and Eli's roles.
- The BoJack Horseman episode "The Bojack Horseman Show" is set in 2007. Princess Carolyn hands her then-boss Marv three scripts, the first two of which are this movie and No Country for Old Men. Marv rejects them both because their titles were more than two words long.
