Films — Live-Action

  • In both the novel and movie of High Fidelity, Barry pretends the store has a copy of "I Just Called to Say I Love You", refuses to sell it to the customer asking for it, and insults the customer for asking for it in the first place (it's for his daughter in the film):
Barry: Do you even know your daughter? There's no way she likes that song! Oh, oh, wait - is she in a coma?
  • In One-Trick Pony, a Hare Krishna at the airport tries to interest Jonah in his religion by saying, "Hey, you're into music, brother. That's great, beautiful. You ever heard of George Harrison and Stevie Wonder? You know what? They're into the Bhagavad Gita. They wrote songs about it and everything."

Literature

  • In the Carl Hiaasen novel Lucky You, JoLayne and Tom have a deal where they get to alternate what music they listen to on the radio, though of course there are times when they agree on songs they like, and songs they don't like, as shown when they both reach for the dial to change the station during a duet between Wonder and Paul McCartney.
  • In The Many Half-Lived Lives of Sam Sylvester, Sam and their dad listen to Stevie Wonder while they decorate the Christmas tree and dance at the same time.
  • In Beautiful Music for Ugly Children, Gabe lists Stevie Wonder as one of his favorite artists of all time. When he spends one of his shows playing music Paige likes, he begins with "Superstition."

Live-Action TV

  • Glee devoted an episode to Wonder's songs, aptly named "Wonder-ful".
  • The Love Boat:
    • In "Help! Murder!/Isaac the Groupie/Mr. Popularity," Isaac's Celeb Crush is wearing a "Stevie Wonder Loves You" T-shirt when he goes to visit her in her cabin.
    • In "Too Close for Comfort," Isaac's cabin is flooded. He wonders how his records will sound after being underwater: "Have you ever heard Stevie Wonder gargle?"

Video Games

  • ANNO: Mutationem: Utilizing the item dissembling mechanic earns the achievement "I think it's broke", a reference to Stevie Wonder's song.
  • Assassin's Creed II: To get the Achievement called "Perfect Harmony", you must first dye your outfit with the Wetlands Ebony style, then dye it with the Wetlands Ivory style - a reference to the Paul McCartney / Stevie Wonder duet "Ebony and Ivory", which contains the chorus "Ebony, Ivory, living in perfect harmony".
  • Cyberpunk 2077: The mission "They Won't Go When I Go" is named after songs by George Michael and Stevie Wonder.

Web Comics

  • The Less Than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal: Amal tries to get TJ to pick a favorite/winner between Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder. TJ refuses and calls it a truce instead of having one of them win.
  • Shot and Chaser: One of the tapes from Tre's mixed bag from his father is a Stevie Wonder tape, which he's thankful for since most of the tapes turn out to be of sermons.
