- Now And Forever: At one point, a little girl played by Shirley Temple sings "The World Owes Me a Living" from The Grasshopper and the Ants.
- Sabotage: The short Who Killed Cock Robin? playing in a movie theater.
- Cuphead: Cala Maria summons a sea turtle in her first phase that looks like a very angry Toby Tortoise, and his fisticuffs pose alludes to the boxing match held in Toby Tortoise Returns.
- Looney Tunes: The series itself (and Merrie Melodies) was made as a parody of Silly Symphonies. Nowadays though not a lot of people realized this and Looney Tunes are considered the de facto Alternate Company Equivalent to Disney. The same could be said with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's Happy Harmonies.
- Tex Avery has stated that Max Hare from The Tortoise and the Hare was a key inspiration for Bugs Bunny.
- The Patrick Star Show: The opening scene of "House Hunting" is based heavily on The Cookie Carnival. In addition, the pig king is modeled after King Midas from The Golden Touch.
- The Simpsons:
- In "Bart Has Two Mommies", Homer participates in a rubber duck race, but his duck drifts off course and toward a windmill inspired by The Old Mill (with a sign clearly based on the title card). Homer tries to save it and gets crushed by the gears inside, with one of them having a missing cog like in the film.
- The Couch Gag for "The Kid is All Right" is a parody of Music Land, called Musicville, where the show's characters are all depicted as anthropomorphic musical instruments. The gag is even introduced as "A Silly Simpsony".
