• In Eternals, Makkari has spent the last 500-some years of downtime in the Domo with a hoard of stuff. Kingo calls her "Miss Havisham", referencing the character who spends her days as a shut-in in her mansion.
• Hot Shots! Part Deux: During the plane ride to their target destination, Rabinowitz is curious to what book Topper is currently reading; apparently Great Expectations. When asked if the book was any good, Topper replies, "it's not all I'd hoped for".

• The Dresden Files: In the short story "The Warrior" Harry uses Great Expectations in an analogy. Kelly is floored that he's made Charles Dickens relevant to her life.
• In There's More Than One Way Home, Val reads Great Expectations.
• Will from If I Fall, If I Die compares his mother's refusal to go outside to Miss Havisham.

Western Animation

• South Park: Minor character Pip is a blatant Expy of the main character from the book. His Day in the Limelight episode is a Whole-Plot Reference to the novel, until an extremely absurd twist at the end.
