- At least two bands have songs named "Pattern Recognition", and both are probably references to Gibson's novel:
- Sonic Youth, who have numerous other songs inspired by Gibson's works (perhaps most famously, "The Sprawl" from Daydream Nation), so it's safe to conclude that their song is named after his novel.
- Gridlink, featuring Jon Chang of Discordance Axis. Given Chang's love of making references to the works of famous science-fiction authors (for instance, a Discordance Axis song is named after Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said by Philip K. Dick, and another Gridlink song is named after Look to Windward by Iain M. Banks), it's quite likely Gridlink's song is a Literary Allusion Title as well.
