  • In the Czechoslovak film The Cremator one of the (Jewish) characters played by Jiri Menzel, an otherwise acclaimed director, is called Dvořák. This is lampshaded by Karel, the Villain Protagonist of the film who mentions the composer in connection to the character. He also confesses that he enjoys the works by Dvořák. (On a side note yet another (Jewish) character in the film is called Strauss. Karel enjoys the music by various people with this surname as well).

  • In He Is Your Brother, Mr Lewis hears his autistic son Orry playing his recorder and recognizes the tune from the Dvořák symphony Mr Lewis's quartet had been playing earlier.
