Droopy as it may be, White Ryu's hairstyle is just as glamourous as his attitude.

The One With… Saki meeting her (real-life) Saga superstar crush... more than two decades after her death. Oof.

A follow-up Sequel Episode to the ninth episode of Season One.

Tropes:

  • The Bus Came Back: Okoba and Inubashiri make a return, tuning into White Ryu's show just as Saki and Sakura appear on it. Okoba is absolutely baffled when Saki announces she'll be taking over.
  • But Now I Must Go: Realizing his time on the radio is coming to a close, White Ryu heads out on the open road, but not before handing off the reins of his show to Saki.
  • Call-Back: Saki once again enthusiastically on board with Kotaro's involving with a staple of Saga.
    • Saki & Kotaro: "We start right NOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!!"
  • The Cameo: Maria and her friends attend Saki's cover performance of White Ryu's song.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Sakura is given a cue card by the filming crew saying "Do a nice segue into going around". What does she do? Aligns herself with a wooden sword pointing down and runs around it in circles.
  • Cry Laughing: Saki tries to laugh off her feelings of heartbreak and solitude, but it becomes to much to contain and she lets it all out.
  • Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life: It's revealed that Saki was an even more unruly punk before she joined Dorami, unsure of the direction she was taking, until listening to White Ryu inspired her to make something out of her life, leading her to become friends with Reiko and Dorami in life, and then Franchouchou post-mortem.
  • Friendship Moment: Saki and Sakura's friendship is put on display again as Sakura accompanies Saki in her pursuit to keep White Ryu from retiring his show. She later comforts Saki when the latter is heartbroken and in tears after realizing Not Growing Up Sucks, only to hilariously start sobbing herself.
  • Humanizing Tears: This is one of the few times Saki has ever cried in a dramatic context, and it is heart-wrenching. Even Sakura can't help but break into tears herself.
  • The Knights Who Say "Squee!": Saki is extremely ecstatic around White Ryu, her longtime icon. Unlike other characters, she buys into his Cloudcuckoolander tendencies one-hundred percent. Justified given how White Ryu's work helped her out of a tough place in her life, and she's grateful for him letting her continue his work by passing on his radio show to her.
  • Love Confession: Saki to White Ryu
    Saki: "Ryu-san, I love you!"
  • Not Growing Up Sucks: Saki is forever an eighteen year old girl while her idol and friends have all aged 20 years in her absence. She realizes she can never have a share a normal life with any of them or get together with her idol. The realization makes her breaks down into tears.
  • Passing the Torch: Saki takes over White Ryu's radio show so that he can retire.
  • Precocious Crush: Saki has feelings for White Ryu who is at least 30 years her senior (Chronologically he'd be about 10 years older, but her zombiehood has kept her from aging). When she confesses, he politely turns her down to their age gap.
  • Spit Take: Okoba as he hears Saki and Sakura introducing themselves on Ryu's show. Later again when Ryu hands his show off to Saki.
  • Wandering the Earth: The last scene with White Ryu has him riding through what looks like a road in the American West.
