Now that 5'o clock has passed after the Digidestined returned from their second trip, Davis runs off home, afraid of detention (Unaware that he doesn't have any detention slip). Izzy meanwhile, decides to borrow Yolei's Digivice along with her 'PDA' for analysis.
During their trips home, the we see the Digidestined's Slice of Life as well as their own thoughts. TK ponders about his issues with both his real life clashing with the Digital World along with the Emperor's status as a human. Davis meets his Jun upon returning home, threatening to expose her Noodle Incident (Throwing a pair of panties into Matt's head) if she does not keep quiet about his detention. Yolei meets up with her older brother Mantarou, where she borrow some drinks promising to pay him later. Cody's mother Anna saw Cody return and wants to know what he learnt today in which he is forced to lie to prevent being exposed. Tai and Kari are fighting over the ownership of the remote, with a concerned Yuuko watching from afar. Izzy spents the night repeatedly analyzing both the Digivice along with the 'PDA' and decides to name it D-3 and D-Terminal respectively.
By the next day after school, the Digidestined gathered back in their usual gathering spot with Izzy explaining the concepts of the D-3 along with the D-Terminal. Immediately after this, the Emperor sends an e-mail to Izzy demanding that they come to Sector 01-110-GAMMA to see their Digimons. Despite suspecting a trap, they decide to head through anyway.
The six Digimons are later revealed to be continously chased all night by two of Emperor's minions, glad that the Digidestined arrived in the spot, unfortunately they fell into a trap in which Davis is taken out of the fight against Centaurmon and Monzaemon. Distressed, TK decides to follow a signal in his Digivice dragging Kari along to an unknown cave.
Meanwhile the same figure that appeared before realizes that the opponents they fought isn't the same as what they used to be and decide to once agains play a supporting role along with his (Agumon).
Elsewhere, TK and Kari managed to stumble upon a cave that contains both the Digiegg of Hope and Light, upon touching it, their Digivices were converted into the D-3s that Davis, Yolei, and Cody have, they received a D-Terminal of their own, and Patamon and Gatomon Armor-Digivolved into Pegasusmon and Nefertimon respectively.
Trapped within the side of a cliff, Davis along with Veemon exchange a banter with the Emperor before he decides to directly throw a ring onto Veemon, only for it to be interrupted when a Mysterious Protector released Davis and Veemon off their control and returns back to aid the troubled Digidestined.
With the entire Armor-Digivolved Digimons at their arsenal, they managed to break Monzaemon and Centaurmon from the Emperor's control. The Emperor sighed at this, realizing that with the dangers of his spire exposed, he would have to accelerate his own plans.

- Named by the Adaptation: Cody's mother is named as Anna Hida despite her name being revealed as Fumiko. Whether its because this information has not been released at the time or he simply could not find any source of their true name is unknown.
