Go To

With the fate of the world and the truth behind the Lost Incident at stake, Revolver and Playmaker begin their fated final showdown!

This episode contains the following tropes:

  • Armor-Piercing Question: Revolver questions Playmaker whether or not he intends to continue trusting Ai even after being told the truth about the Ignis.
  • Armor-Piercing Response: In response to Revolver's Armor-Piercing Question, Playmaker, unfazed, claims that he doesn't share a bond with Ai, and cares only for settling things with Revolver.
  • The Faceless: The six children that were kidnapped during the Lost Incident are all seen in a flashback, completely obscured; in addition, three of the children's identities are unknown.
  • Jerkass Ball: After finding out that Ai lied about his memories, Yusaku became an even more jerkass to Ai.
  • The Reveal: All six of the AIs seen at the beginning of the series are based on the six children kidnapped during the Lost Incident. More specifically, the Ignis/Ai is based on Yusaku himself.
  • Xanatos Gambit: Playmaker correctly deduces that Revolver's Set card is Mirror Force, and uses Foal Tolelancer's Effect to ensure that his Decode Talker won't be destroyed by card effects as long as the former is in Defense Position. However, Revolver's Spin-Headed Behemoth forces all of Playmaker's Monsters into Attack Position, and thus, all of them are destroyed by Revolver's Mirror Force. In addition to that, Revolver is able to Special Summon Overflow Dragon from his hand.
  • Your Mind Makes It Real: Kusanagi points out that even a tiny fragment of debris circling around the Tower of Hanoi can kill Playmaker if it hits him in the wrong spot.
