Go To

Faust, the mastermind behind Another, takes Naoki hostage and uses him to draw out Playmaker. Using electric worm monsters known as "Motor Worms", he seals away Playmaker's Link Summon. Playmaker then flies into the Data Storm and uses Storm Access, hoping to turn things around...

This episode contains the following tropes:

  • All According to Plan: Though Cybersal Cyclone fails to destroy Spread Queen, Playmaker is able to use the Spell's second effect (which requires the Banishing of a Cyberse Monster to activate) to destroy Wormhole Defense.
  • Avenging the Villain: Faust declares his intent to avenge Genome and Baira at the start of the episode.
  • Badass Back: Powercode Talker pierces through Spreader Queen, and doesn't bother to look back as the latter is destroyed.
  • Cassandra Truth: Ai declines to believe Faust's claim that the latter never stole Cyberse Wizard's card data and sent it to Brave Max.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: If you pause during the moment the unknown individual raises his clenched fist, you can see Hanoi's red mark around the trapezium area of his right hand.
  • Hidden Depths: Yusaku suspects Ai of being the one who transferred Cyberse Wizard to Naoki.
  • Killed Mid-Sentence: Faust attempts to inform Playmaker that humanity's future will be in shambles thanks to the latter and the Ignis species, only to be purged before he could finish talking.
  • No-Sell: Faust uses the effect of Wormhole Defense to stop Cybersal Cyclone from destroying his Spread Queen, but it still plays into Playmaker dismantling his defense.
  • Wham Shot: Faust's flashback, which reveals he and Baira were part of the experiment Yusaku was forced into, and that it apparently lead to the creation of the Ignis.
