Tropes:

  • Behemoth Battle: Once again two Maximums clash; this time Wurm Ex-Cavator with Magnum Over Road. This time however, they end up with equal ATK.
  • Call-Back: Hunt still isn't keen on Luke dubbing his sneezing as "sneezcavation".
  • Cliffhanger: The episode end with both Maximums clashing, with it stated that whoever's disintegrates first will lose.note
  • Combat Pragmatist: When Asana uses the effect of Wurm Ex-Cavator to destroy a Spell or Trap and draw a card, she chooses to destroy Yuga's this time instead of her own Field Spell, as the single card she drew provided Wurm Ex-Cavator with enough ATK to wipe out Yuga's LP had he not prevented the damage with another face-down card. In addition, her destroying one of Yuga's set cards decreased the chance of Yuga being able to defend himself. Too bad she destroyed High Magic - Double Accel instead of Trick Guard.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Both Yuga and Asana anticipated what the other was going to do a fair number of times throughout the episode. Neither of them thought that their Maximums clashing with equal ATK would stress them enough to disintegrate them.
  • The Reveal: How Asana got her Maximum cards and what the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club were looking for. When Yuga and Nail installed their respective Rush Duel and Maximum programs, the old prototype duel disks also received the updates. And a few old ID cards could be rewritten into Maximum cards. So the club was unearthing them to look for Duel Disk and ID card combinations that work. However these Maximum cards are fragile and could easily disintegrate during a duel against another Maximum.
  • Xanatos Gambit: Yuga ultimately planned to have a Maximum in his deck when he faced Asana either way. He could either had found three Duel ID cards that didn't decay and that he could rewrite into Magnum Over Road again, or use Yggdrago, which he borrowed from Nail.
