While Jaden is enjoying his enrollment at Duel Academy, Obellisk Blue snob Chazz Princeton wants a piece of him to see if Jaden defeating Dr. Crowler was skill or a fluke.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Chazz activates a trap card taking control of Jaden's Flame Wingman.
- Mythology Gag: The academy dorms. Obelisk Blue is the most luxurious since it was Kaiba's Egyptian God card in the original series. Ra Yellow is a step below with both dorms having extravagant dinners. Slifer Red, the card possessed by Kaiba's rival Yugi is, as Syrus puts it, "an outhouse with a deck" while their dinner is a bowl of rice, a fish and some miso soup.
- What Might Have Been: In-universe, Jaden shows Syrus and Alexis that if the duel wasn't interrupted, he could've used the Monster Reborn card he drew to bring back his Flame Wingman and finish Chazz.
