Reiji and Roget's duel continues. Roget boasts that his combo is invincible, but Reiji insists that every plan has a flaw. Reiji Special Summons "D/D/D Wisdom King Chaos Apocalypse" and uses it to swiftly Fusion Summons "D/D/D Cruel Dragon King Beowulf" and "D/D/D Cursed Blood King Siegfried," and then sets "D/D Savant Thomas" and "D/D Savant Nikola" in his Pendulum zones. Siegfried's effect negates the effect of Roget's "Ancient Gear Magic Shield," rendering "Ancient Gear Devil" vulnerable. Beowulf attacks, dealing piercing damage, and Siegfried attacks directly to finish Roget off. Suddenly, Roget vanishes, and then reappears with his Duel Disk and opening hand ready. This Roget enters the duel, taking a 2000 Life Point intrusion penalty. Roget says that no matter how many times Reiji defeats him, he will rise again.
Reiji activates the Pendulum effect of Thomas to return Wisdom King Chaos Apocalypse from his Extra Deck to his hand, and ends his turn. Roget begins his turn, and at this time Reiji activates the effect of Wisdom King Chaos Apocalypse in his hand, destroying Thomas and Nikola in his Pendulum Zones to Special Summon it. Nikola's monster effect activates on destruction, allowing Reiji to return a D/D/D monster to his hand to place two D/D monsters in his Extra Deck in his Pendulum Zones; he returns Wisdom King Chaos Apocalypse to his hand and re-sets Thomas and Nikola in the Pendulum zones. Reiji then activates the Continuous Trap "Dark Contract with the Abyss Pendulum." When a D/D monster is returned to the hand from the field, he can inflict damage equal to its DEF. Roget takes 2000 damage and loses again.
Once again Roget vanishes and reappears, laughing he will always revive. Reiji explains, however, that he can use this combo again, every time a new "Roget" enters and begins their turn. No matters how many times Roget returns, Reiji can continue to use his combo to deal 2000 damage, and with the intrusion penalty, it will defeat Roget before he can make a move. Meanwhile, Yuya, Gongenzaka, Sawatari, Jack, Crow, and Kurosaki, arrive together at Security, and Sora hacks their way into the arena.
As Roget, dueling from a remote control room, realizes he cannot win, he recognizes the Lancers and reveals to them that the Professor of Academia is Reiji's father, Leo, and that they were pawns in their plan. While Leo made his base in Fusion and invaded and conquered Xyz, Reiji made his base in Standard and invaded and conquered Synchro. Roget leaves the duel and flees in an elevator, but Jack and Crow intercept him and Jack destroys their elevator with Red Demon's Dragon Scar-light. Roget and Yuzu fall and Yuya swings in to save her. The two finally reunited, they embrace with tears in their eyes.
Roget pulls himself up and explains the dimensional travel device he built was made to transport the entire city across dimensions should Academia attack. He activates it now, declaring he will drag the Lancers and the city down with him into the void between dimensions. A pillar of light rises into the sky and engulfs the building, and in the chaos of the machine's activation, Roget falls into a wormhole and vanishes, and Yuzu is drawn into another wormhole while Yuya, Gongenzaka, Kurosaki, and Sawatari are pulled into another. Reiji tells the others remaining they were like pulled into another dimension, but he has no way to know which one.
Yuya and his friends wake up in the ruins of Heartland, in the Xyz Dimension.
This episode contains the following tropes:
- Armor-Piercing Question: When Roget, being the Sore Loser that he is, claims to the Lancers that Reiji and Leo are allies in the interdimensional war, Reiji points out the one hole in his claim: even if that were the case, why would Roget, who is ostensibly an enemy, be running to the Fusion Dimension other than to cower behind Leo Akaba? In the dub, he instead points out that Roget claims the Professor's plan is to take over the Fusion and Xyz Dimensions while Declan handles Standard and Synchro... and yet, Roget was supposedly dispatched to the Synchro Dimension and was branded an enemy despite supposedly being Duel Academy's finest. Either way, Roget's lies collapse on the spot.
- As You Know: When the Duel between Reiji and Roget picks up where it left off, they start by recapping what Roget's cards on the field do.
- Chekhov's Gun: That intrusion penalty finally came in handy instead of just being detrimental...
- Cycle of Hurting: If Roget is defeated, he comes back into the Duel, albeit with 2000 LP due to the intrusion penalty. However, Reiji can destroy DD Savants Nikola and Thomas to bring back his DDD Wisdom King Chaos Apocalypse, which he returns to his hand to place Nikola and Thomas back in the Pendulum Zone, allowing his Covenant with the Demon World Pendulum to deal damage equal to Chaos Apocalypse's DEF. Which is exactly 2000. And he can do this ad infinitum. Needless to say, Roget more-or-less Rage Quits right there.
- Fate Worse than Death: Roget's last trick is to attempt to drag the entire City into the void between dimensions. Presumably, that's where he ends up.
- Fighting a Shadow: As it turns out, Roget was using a hologram of himself to Duel against Reiji. This also allows him to keep coming back for more after being defeated.
- Flipping the Bird: Before responding to Roget's attempt to sow distrust of him among the Lancers, Reiji adjusts his glasses using his middle finger. Note that he usually uses both the middle and index fingers. (This was caught by the dub, which redrew the shot to have Declan using the usual two fingers.)
- Hoist by His Own Petard: In a last-ditch effort to take down the Lancers, Roget opens a dimensional portal to try and dispose of them. Except it only sucks him in. At first...
- Meaningful Name: The title refers to Roget's trick of using holograms: every time he loses, he essentially respawns at full Life Points, making the duel last forever until one side gives up (as Roget does when Reiji sets up an infinitely-repeatable combo which lets him beat Roget every time).
- Mythology Gag: Roget's use of holograms is extremely reminiscent of a trick Jeager pulled back in 5D's. His activation of the teleport (particularly by slamming his fist down on the activation panel) harks back to Rudger causing the Zero Reverse incident.
- One-Hit Kill: Reiji pulls this on Roget. And then does it again. And again.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Roget finally snaps when Yuya gives him one after Reiji points out the flaw of his "Akaba Family" story.
- The Reveal: Roget reveals to the Lancers that the Professor of Academia they're fighting is Reiji's father. The Lancers are stunned, having had no idea.
- Rule of Symbolism: The actual title of this episode is called "The Immortal's Duel".
- Scenery Gorn: After being pulled through Roget's portal, the Lancers get dumped into Heartland. Suffice it to say that being attacked by Academia did not help its appearance at all.

Schedule Slip: Due to the World Table Tennis Tournament in March 6th, the TV Tokyo staff decided to mix this episode and the next one into a one-hour special to make up for the said event. This has something to do with the fifth opening's premiere being set on April 3rd. - Ship Tease: Yuya and Yuzu receive a lot of it when they see each other again for the first time since Season 1.
- Theme Music Power-Up: It's clear that Roget's screwed as soon as DDD starts playing over Reiji explaining his infinite loop combo.
- Why Won't You Die?: As it turns out, Tsukikage and Sora did beat Roget... except he just got back up and re-joined. Presumably, this allowed him a Victory by Endurance.
