When Yuya arrives in the Fusion Dimension, he witnesses Kurosaki attacking Leo. Still grieving over the loss of his sister and best friend, Kurosaki now turns his attention to Yuya, who used to be Zarc.
This episode contains the following tropes:
- Armor-Piercing Response: When Kurosaki questions Leo about Ruri's whereabouts, Leo deduces that she no longer exists. Kurosaki doesn't buy the claim, however.
- The Atoner: Leo finally realizes that in his desperation to revive Ray, he ignored that the four Bracelet Girls also have lives and he stole them. He feels great guilt for what he has done and allows Kurosaki to punch him.
- Back from the Dead: Asuka, who was last seen Dueling Yuri back in Episode 123, returns, attempting to console Kurosaki to no avail.
- Big Brother Instinct: Like always, Ruri's safety is Kurosaki's first priority.
- Brutal Honesty: Jack does not believe Yuya will be able to save anyone in his current state.
- Didn't See That Coming: Yuya's final move was believed to have ended the Duel in a DRAW, but it was revealed that Odd-Eyes Lancer's effect was what helped him score the win.
- Graceful Loser: Kurosaki acknowledges his loss, and with the realization that he saw Yuto's spirit in Yuya that means there is hope that Ruri is alive as well.
- Internal Reveal: Yuya reveals Ruri's relationship with Ray to Kurosaki and what happened to her and the rest of the Bracelet Girls.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Yuya sees the damage that Zarc did to Academia and feels responsible for it.
- Not Quite Dead: Leo states that out of the 4 Dragon Boys only Yuya revived and that the Bracelet Girls are gone having fused into Ray but states the possibility that Yuzu was revived as well. But Kurosaki saw Yuto in Yuya during his last turn which convinced him that not only is Yuto alive, but Ruri, too, is alive.
- Revenge: Averted despite his continuous hatred; Kurosaki doesn't have it in him anymore to punch Leo when he hears that Ruri is gone.
- Took a Level in Badass:
- Kurosaki performs a Rank Up Xyz Change to bring out the Rank 12 Raidraptor - Final Fortress Falcon.
- Yuya reveals a new upgrade to Odd-Eyes, Odd-Eyes Lancer Dragon.
- Wham Shot: After Yuya made sure that Kurosaki also took his battle damage, Sora and Asuka believed the Duel to conclude in a DRAW until Yuya is shown to be still standing.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Jack has a point about Yuya being "cocky" and a "coward": he's holding back again over fearing what will happen if he goes all-out by summoning the Four Dimension Dragons.
- When He Smiles: Kurosaki, after losing to Yuya.
- Willfully Weak: Yuya again refuses to summon Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon this episode.
- Your Answer to Everything: Kurosaki believes Dueling to be all he has left now that Yuto and Ruri are gone.
