Yugi scrambles to find a way to defeat Noah as his opponent attacks Yugi's friends and builds up his own life points.

- Break the Haughty: Noah remains confident up until Yugi uses De-Fusion to separate the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon back into the three standard Blue-Eyes, ready to unleash 9000 attack points worth of damage when Noah has 8300 life points and no monsters to defend himself.
- Heroic Second Wind: With Yugi’s lifepoints basically gone and all of his friends turned to stone, Yami Yugi is given encouragement by Yugi and their memories of their friends to get back in the game and take Noah down with a final draw.
- Oh, Crap!: Noah gets this in spades when Yugi summons Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, and then sees Yugi play De-Fusion to continue his attack.
- Rule of Symbolism: When Yugi draws Card of Sanctity, he muses that the hearts of his friends (Tea, Joey, Tristan, Duke, Serenity and Kaiba) are in the six cards he drew for his final victory over Noah.
- Taken for Granite: Towards the end of the duel, Noah turns all of Yugi’s friends to stone as Yugi finishes his turns.
- There Is No Kill Like Overkill: Yugi’s final draw sees him not only summon the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon to destroy Noahs’ current monster, but then separate the Ultimate Dragon back into the three Blue-Eyes so that they can all attack Noah’s life points directly at once.
- Unskilled, but Strong: This is basically the only reason Noah lost; he doesn’t properly take advantage of some moments in the duel when he could have defeated Yugi earlier in favour of showing off his power.
- Ironically, despite the constant life points advantage and basically making up the rules in his own favour, Noah doesn't actually seem to have Yami Yugi on the back foot at any point except when he draws Card of Sanctity. The King of Games is just that much of a better duelist.
- Villainous Breakdown: Noah, who had spent most of this and the previous duel acting smug and superior to everyone else, is reduced to cowering and panicking when Yugi summons the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon to destroy his Hino-Kagu-Tsuchi, then de-fuses them into three separate Blue-Eyes with enough combined attack to reduce the rest of Noah's Life Points to zero.
