Sheldon's not much help to Missy on this one...

Connie has $14,000 that she made from the laundromat/casino, and can't take it to the bank, as they will become suspicious. She decides to give $100 each to Sheldon and Missy.

Sheldon spends his money on RadioShack stock (NYSE: RSH at the time), and comes up with a plan to open a megastore for the company. He tries to send his plan to corporate, but he is unable to, partially due to Mary being unwilling to drive him around.

Missy spends her money on a cotton candy machine, and Georgie convinces her to sell the cotton candy at school rather than give it away for free to her friends like she had planned to; her business is a huge success.

Meanwhile, George Sr. is under threat of being fired, so he goes to East Texas Tech to talk to President Hagemeyer (Wendie Malick) about being hired as their coach; Hagemeyer tells him that they no longer have a football team there. George then goes to the bar, and runs into Dale (Craig T. Nelson), who offers him a part-time job at the sporting goods store; George accepts.

Connie and Dale talk to each other about what to do with the casino money. Connie goes out and buys a sports car that Dale doesn't like, and then takes Dale out to dinner at an expensive restaurant. Dale, on the other hand, wants to retire. This disagreement causes Dale to break up with Connie.

In The Tag, adult Sheldon explains how Missy's business eventually had to shut down after the cotton candy machine became infested with ants, and how RadioShack eventually did build a megastore, but it was a massive financial failure for the company.

Tropes

  • Guest Star: Sheldon brings in his wife Amy (Mayim Bialik) to help explain relationships in the opening narration.
  • Previously on…: We're reminded of the football booster's displeasure with George's performance as head coach at Medford High School. Also that Connie got a laundromat with a secret casino in the back.
  • Shout-Out:
    • To Ronald McDonald: Georgie tells Missy that McDonald's clown never gave free food to his friends. Missy points out that Ronald's a fictional character.
    • To The Simpsons: Old Sheldon says Mary says money is "the root of all evil," but she also says that about the cartoon family.
  • This Is Going to Be Huge: Sheldon calls RadioShack to sell them on the idea of a megastore. At the end, Adult Sheldon reveals that they did eventually open one, Incredible Universe, which was a huge failure.
    Adult Sheldon: Oopsie!
