Episode 13: Alpha Male
Takes place on September 10 (Opening), September 23 - 24
The Brain and Monsieur Mallah are enslaving animals in a jungle, and Batman sends the team (which after Red Tornado's disappearance will now have a rotating Justice League mentor, beginning with Captain Marvel) to investigate, but Superboy overhears that Aqualad knew about The Mole, and this causes friction within the team.
Notes:
- Superboy gets another pet, a wolf he names Wolf.
- The tiger in this episode is an homage to Mister Tawky Tawny, an humanoid tiger that used to be a funny sidekick to Captain Marvel.
This episode provides examples of:
- Evil Poacher: Gotham mayor Hamilton Hill is involved in a tiger-poaching ring, making him an example of a corrupt official engaging in poaching and an illegal trophy hunter, both of which are Truth in Television.
- Speaks Fluent Animal: Captain Marvel seems to demonstrate this, based on how he has an entire conversation with a tiger he dubs Mr. Tawny.
