Xena tries to convince Borias' son to stop his persecution of the centaurs.
Tropes
- Armor-Piercing Question: "It's up to you now, Belach. Do you want your daughter to hate you the same way you hated your father?"
- Coitus Interruptus: A young Belach sees Xena and Borias doing the deed. Annoyed, Xena wraps a blanket around him and drops him further away from them.
- Dead Guy Junior: The baby is named after his great-grandfather, Borias.
- Fantastic Racism: Lord Belach outright hates them for encroaching on his territory as well for good old fashioned racism.
- Final Solution: All of the remaining centaurs are seen dead and in a ditch. Xenan is the only one left.
- Heroic Vow:Ephiny: I have to leave, now. Xenan, I will always be there. You won't see me, but I'll be there.
Xenan: I have a feeling I'll know when you are. - Interspecies Romance: It is revealed that Nica wasn't captured by Xenan; she's not only with love with him but also pregnant with his child. Fitting as Xenan's human mother gave birth to him.
- Karma Houdini: Despite being responsible for wiping out an entire ancestry of humanoids, Belach faces no consequences for his actions.
- Little "No": Belach when Xena asks him the Armor-Piercing Question.
- Maligned Mixed Marriage: Belach did not take the fact that his daughter is in love with a centaur.
- Spin to Deflect Stuff: When Belach's men open fire with crossbows, Xena grabs a shield and twirls her body while launching herself forward. This catches the arrows and plows her through the men.
- Shout-Out: The title is a nod to The Last of the Mohicans. The plight of the centaurs are meant to be seen in a similar way to Native Americans in general.
- Something We Forgot: Xenan had not appeared since Season 3, and he was not accounted for when his mother died in Season 4. This episode in part addresses his status.
- This Cannot Be!: Gabrielle when approached by Ephiny's ghost.
