When the leader of the Amazon is killed by a sociopathic hunter, Xena and Varia set out to bring him to justice.
Tropes
- Booby Trap: Morloch places Varia on top of an unstable wooden platform that can be disrupted by removing the logs.
- Hunting the Most Dangerous Game: Morloch began hunting Amazons after becoming bored hunting animals, but becomes annoyed when even they don't pose much of a challenge, leading him to switch targets to Xena.
- Inertial Impalement: Xena baits Morloch straight into a spiked log she lifted up in his direction.
- Nemesis Weapon: Morloch has a weapon that works the same way with Xena's chakram.
- Not Worth Killing: Once Varia is freed, Xena refuses to fight Morloch. Morloch didn't take it well.
- Playing with Fire: Morloch starts a forest fire to draw out Xena and Varia.
- Plot-Triggering Death: Marga's death leads to Varia seeking the hunter out for revenge.
- Revenge Before Reason: Varia rushes ahead to try and kill Morloch and his hunters at any chance she gets despite being outnumbered and without looking for traps.
- Sanity Slippage: Morloch turns to increasingly drastic ways to kill Xena, including willfully leaving some of his own mooks to burn in a forest fire he starts to flush her out.
- Tree Buchet: Xena tries to use one to get Varia out of the burning forest to safety. Unfortunately, Morloch is one step ahead of her and uses his own to launch a net and capture her mid-air.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: Raczar may have been increasingly dismayed by Morloch's actions, but it's never explained why they weren't present in the arena.
