Tropes
- Blood Knight: Varia. She relishes in her fight with Ares' army and has no problems going into a battle with no chance of winning.
- Break the Haughty: The normally confident and boisterous Ares is reduced to a wimpering mess of a man. Justified in that Ares has some hangups over losing his immortality and he truly isn't right in his head at the moment.
- Call-Back: Gabrielle's methods to bring back Xena echo the time when Xena did the same thing to save her.
- Decapitated Army: One the army realizes that Ares is no longer a god, they retreat.
- Driven to Madness: It's revealed that Ares is under the influence of the Furies.
- Face Death with Dignity: Eve isn't afraid to let Varia kill her for her actions, even if's against the orders of their leader Marga.
- Fighting Fingerprint: When Eve shows a certain move to Varia, the amazons quickly recognize her as the one who killed their fighters and destroyed their land.
- Fly Crazy: Ares is frustrated at how hard it is to kill a fly that keeps landing on his fruits. Made more humiliating when 'Xena' crushes it in one try.
- Forgot I Couldn't Swim: Ares keeps forgetting he can no longer shoot fireballs or teleport, to hilarious effectsI gotta stop tryin' that. I'm gonna rupture something.
- God Guise: Ares. Despite losing his godhood, his army still believe he's a god. That's why they are willing to march and take on the amazons.
- Immortality Seeker: Ares is already tired of being a mortal and hopes to take ambrosia from the amazons to become a god again.
- Improbable Aiming Skills: Perhaps her most infamous chakram throw yet. The chakram loops around an entire valley no less than two times, kills the Furies where they stand in the first loop and doesn't hit anyone else by the time she's resuscitated. It's by far the longest chakram throw in the show's history.
- Kiss of Life: Gabrielle gives one to Xena to bring her back to life.
- Platonic Kissing: Xena gives Ares a kiss on the lips, but reaffirms that they are Just Friends.
- Slavery Is a Special Kind of Evil: The amazons revealed that those who died fighting Eve's army were the lucky ones. The captured ones were sold off as slaves.
- Someone Has to Die: The only way bring the Furies out of the open is for Xena to die. She can at least do so in a way that has the best chance of revival.
- Talking to Themself: Ares is the only one who can see the Furies and their forms. It leads to home hilariously strange looks from his soldiers. It also makes it nearly impossible for Xena to talk to him.
- This Is Unforgivable!: Understandably, the amazons want to kill Eve for destroying the amazon nation. Even Xena herself says this, but puts her foot down on punishing her.Xena: What Eve did to your people is unforgivable, but she is my daughter. And if anything happens to her while she's in your custody, you'll have me to deal with. And trust me... you ain't ready for that.
