Xena and Gabrielle host a battle of the bands for control of a magical lyre.
Tropes
- Battle of the Bands: Xena arranges one to avert an actual battle over Terpsichore's lyre, which she winds up winning herself after crashing Draco's act to save Gabrielle.
- Camp Gay: Joxer's other brother Jace. It's never confirmed, but it's heavily implied.
- Fan Disservice: The final shot of the credits montage is Xena in the same fringe outfit Gabrielle wore... only to show that she is still well into her pregnancy.
- Go-Go Enslavement: Draco sticks Gabrielle in a fringe bikini before locking her in a cage to be a stage prop for his act.
- If I Can't Have You…: After being repeatedly rejected by Gabrielle, Draco comes to believe the only way he could ever get over her is to kill her off as part of his performance.
- Jukebox Musical: All the musical numbers are cover versions of existing songs with (sometimes wild) tweaks to their genres to make them fit the characters singing them.
- Love Redeems: Defied. Not even falling for Gabrielle seemed to change Draco's heart.
- Metalhead: Draco's songs are based on this.
- Musical Episode: The second one in the series. In this case, there is no explanation for why everyone is suddenly singing.
- Queer People Are Funny: Joxer's triplet brother Jace. Jace's terrible (even by in universe standards) Spanish accent, and incredible Camp styling would make a young Elton John cringe, and gave a few cheap (and oddly glittery) laughs to the audience.
- Villain Song: Draco sings a hard rock version of Dionne Warwick's Always Something There To Remind Me.
