  • Birthday Episode: Xavier's birthday is in this episode, and he receives a mysterious gift. This gift is revealed to be a puzzle box inherited from his great-great grandparents. It is also Zelia Nuttall's birthday during the first instance that the kids visit her.
  • Constantly Curious: Zelia is always asking questions. Her questions are ultimately what led her to discover the lost codex.
  • Luminescent Blush: Brad blushes when Zelia asks questions about his clothes.
  • Reused Character Design: Anne Bronte's design is reused for one of the kids at Zelia's party.
  • Running Gag: Brad wanting to eat cake.
  • Series Continuity Error: Brad claims that he made his cape himself. This contradicts what is shown in "I Am Zora Neale Hurston," which shows that his cape is a Security Blanket that he got when he was a baby. However, Brad could have just been boasting.
