Episode Aesop: It is okay to be different.
After-Episode Skit: "Flutterflies" (short)

A Tale of Tails is the first episode of Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!, both in chronological order and in production order. In this episode, Wubbzy is concerned since no one wants to play kickity-kick ball because of his long tail. He thus goes to seek help from his two friends, Widget and Walden.

A Tale of Tails contains the following tropes:

  • Establishing Character Moment: For all threenote  main characters.
    • Wubbzy's playing with his kickity-kick ball and saying his usual Catchphrase, "Wow!"
    • Widget building inventions.
    • Walden using wacky words and giving some wisdom to Wubbzy.
  • Establishing Series Moment: For the entire series. Wubbzy encountering a dilemma, and solving it with the help of Widget and Walden.
  • Mythology Gag: It is possible the name of the episode comes from a quote told by Flopsy from The Tail of Flopsy, Mopsy, and Ted (the comic that serves as the pilot).
  • Oh, Crap!: Wubbzy's face right after he says he won't touch a thing and accidentally pushes a lever with his tail activating the Robo-Cluck 3000.
  • Vocal Evolution: There are two versions of this episode. One featuring Wubbzy in a slightly lower-pitched voicenote  and one shown in the Made-for-TV Movie where his voice is higher pitched to sound like the rest of the show.
