"The Mighty Zeke": Malik and Zadie attempt to help Zeke overcome his fear of riding a two-wheeler.


"The Mighty Zeke" contains the following tropes:

  • The Adjectival Superhero: Zeke's superhero name is The Mighty Zeke.
  • Affectionate Gesture to the Head: Mr. E headpats Zeke after he bumps into him a second time.
  • Applied Phlebotinum: Zadie wants to turn Zeke into a superhero by concocting a secret formula.
  • It Was with You All Along: While riding his bike without training wheels, Zeke loses Snout. When he goes to save the toy, his superhero costume falls off piece by piece. As it turns out, his costume didn't make him brave - it was in him the whole time.
  • Opening Shout-Out: Zeke's superhero outfit is the same one shown in the theme song.
  • Reflective Eyes: Zeke gets these when he looks at the comic book.
  • Running Gag: Mr. E dropping his books and other mishaps.
  • Shout-Out: The sliding bike stop scene is one to AKIRA.
  • Show Within a Show: When Malik first appears in the episode, he's shown reading a comic book about "Wonder Wombat." This comic is also where Zeke gets the idea to become a superhero.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: Zadie wants to go to the trouble of using Applied Phlebotinum on Zeke. Malik suggests that they just make him a superhero costume instead.
  • Superhero: Zadie and Malik try to make Zeke into a superhero called The Mighty Zeke.

"Gift For a Fish": The wombats are invited to the Fishmans' baby shower, and they need to bring a gift for the newborn fish babies.

"Gift For a Fish" contains the following tropes:

  • Bridal Carry: Zadie and Malik roll into Mr. E, sending him flying through the air. Ellie catches him in her arms.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Zadie says that the babies looking at themselves through the glass is so cute.
  • Doting Parent: Mr. Fishman is immensely proud of his newborns.
  • Literal-Minded: Zeke thinks that a baby shower is like a shower where you wash with soap.
  • Ship Tease: Mr. E and Ellie have some moments in this episode. First, Ellie catches Mr. E in a Bridal Carry. Next, he makes big, cute eyes at her after she tells him to be careful. Finally, Ellie asks Mr. E to dance. Mr. E joyfully responds "That is a thumbs up affirmative!"
  • Textile Work Is Feminine: Ellie is revealed to like knitting, as she is shown knitting a hammock for the fish babies.
  • Unusual Euphemism: "Bouncing bubbles, it's magnificent!"
