I am Cure Nyammy is the 12th episode of Wonderful Pretty Cure!.
Mayu is concerned over the fact Yuki suddenly keeps disappearing. Iroha and Komugi help her look for Yuki, with the former giving Mayu a security camera. In their wait, Komugi senses a Garugaru appearing.
Tropes:
- Didn't Think This Through: Iroha and Komugi forgot that the latter promised to help Mayu find Yuki as a human.
- Evolving Credits: Yuki's human form is no longer shadowed in the opening.
- Foreshadowing: There were several hints that the Garugaru would be an owl including a normal owl being shown in the beginning of the episode and the security camera Iroha gives to Mayu being owl-themed.
- I Need to Go Iron My Dog: When a Garugaru appears, Iroha quickly makes the excuse that she needs to go get another security camera for Mayu.
- Internal Reveal: After several near-misses in previous episodes, Mayu now knows about the existence of the Garugaru.
- Kick Them While They Are Down: After a one-sided beatdown, Nyammy tries to kick the Garugaru, who at this point is no longer capable of resisting, to finish it off only to be stopped by Friendy and Wonderful.
- Mook Horror Show: Nyammy's fight against the Garugaru is very one-sided and played for horror, due to the monsters of this series being innocent animals turned into monsters against their will. Even being down after her assault is not enough for Nyammy to stop attacking it, if it wasn't for Friendy and Wonderful.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Komugi suddenly appearing as a human in front of Mayu and telling her that she also goes with Iroha is what convinced Mayu to try and follow them, which caused her to be attacked by the Garugaru.
- No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: This is the best way to describe Nyammy's fight against the owl Garugaru.
- Nothing Is the Same Anymore: This episode introduces the high-impact fight scenes popular in the first 20 seasons of Pretty Cure... in a way that's both awesome and terrifying, with the owl Garugaru not even having a chance against Nyammy, and Wonderful and Friendy barely able to comprehend what she did.
- Rule of Symbolism: After Nyammy's fight against the owl Garugaru, it is shown that the owl-themed camera used to watch her movements as Yuki is similarly toppled.
- Something Only They Would Say: Mayu realizes that Cure Nyammy and the blond-haired girl she met in the previous episode are the same person, due to both of them telling her to not get involved.
