- Battle Discretion Shot: During one lesson segment, despite being Bloom and her opponent about to engage in a sword fight, we don't get to see them actually clash blades against each other. Only three cutting swings amidst black before cutting back to Bloom's sword being snapped in half.
- Dub-Induced Plot Hole: Tecna casts a truth spell at Professor Avalon (in the original and Cinelume dub, this was just an ordinary attack spell), which doesn't turn up anything, despite that later episodes reveal that Avalon is evil.
- Right for the Wrong Reasons: Tecna believes Professor Avalon is evil after seeing various signs described in a book, but later finds out the book was written by a comedian. However, a later episode reveals that Avalon is evil, or rather an evil clone created to spy on the Winx for Darkar while the real Professor Avalon had been kept locked up in Darkar's dungeon.
