Frank Castle is a former marine and current policeman with a loving family. They go on a picnic in Central Park, but unlike canon, this time they evade the mob goons who would have killed all of them but Frank, and Frank continues to be a loving dad, who reads his kids stories and tells his son about how his time in the army taught him about the value of teamwork. He even becomes a police officer, working towards stopping crime the legal way.
Unfortunately, this is only a temporary respite for poor Frank, as some corrupt cops plant a bomb in his house, killing his family and prompting him to become the Punisher, starting his killing spree with the officials who let the murders happen.
What if the Punisher was a Troper?
- Beware the Nice Ones: This interpretation of the Punisher is not a Blood Knight just waiting for his excuse to snap; he really is a loving family man who just so happens to also be a highly-decorated marine able to take brutal revenge on the people who took all that away from him.
- Good Parents: Dad!Frank is a caring father to his kids and tries to teach them about cooperation and responsibility.
- In Spite of a Nail: The Castles survive one mob hit, but are killed by another and Frank becomes the Punisher regardless.
- Yank the Dog's Chain: Frank gets to keep his family... for a few years until they get killed by a bomb.
