The Bears go a tad overboard to help Chloe get over her fear of an intimidating professor.

Tropes:

  • Break Them by Talking: Lampwick is scarily good at this. Even the usually stoic Ice Bear is defeated by it.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The Bear's song about Chloe's chemistry lab actually ends up helping her when Lampwick challenges her to redo her lab in five minutes.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Apparently, the bears thought it was a good idea to force Lampwick to give Chloe a second chance, except they went overboard by kidnapping him and end up risking themselves to going to prison.
  • The Dreaded: Lampwick. His students are afraid to even talk to him, and he regularly exploits this as a way to escape kidnapping. Even Ice Bear is intimidated by him.
  • Evil Brit: Lampwick. The fact that he is voiced by the ever Evil Is Hammy Malcolm McDowell makes more sense.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: Panda starts going over the details of how the bears internet-stalked Lampwick, found his house, and took him by force when he refused to come with them before realizing what a bad idea it was.
  • I Resemble That Remark!: When Lampwick mocks the bears, saying they couldn't do basic arithmetic.
Grizzly: Can too! That's... that's math, right?
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: After Lampwick manipulates Panda into being tied up and Chloe into getting Grizzly tied up, Ice Bear knows what's coming next and ties himself up before Lampwick goes any further with him.
Professor Lampwick: (about Ice Bear) What hidden motive lurks behind his stoic, chiseled features? Do you even really know him?
    (Beat)
Ice Bear: Ice Bear will cut out middle man. (promptly ties himself up)
  • Manipulative Bastard: Lampwick acts as one.
  • Noodle Incident: Lampwick nonchalantly mentions this isn't the first time a student has kidnapped him for a grade.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Lampwick's first appearance outside of Chloe's Imagine Spot.
  • Sadist Teacher: Professor Lampwick seems like an intimidating Stern Teacher who takes students kidnapping him in stride but seems to take personal satisfaction in psychologically manipulating them as much as possible to prove themselves and let him go. After the ordeal, Panda implores Chloe to transfer classes, because he is truly messed up.
  • Shout-Out: Lampwick states that they are not the the first students to kidnap him over a grade.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: Chloe finally gets tired of Lampwick's mind games and calls him out for being a bully and not respecting the effort she's put into her education.
