The Bears find a beehive near their home, but when they ignore Tabes' warning to leave it alone they end up becoming hopelessly addicted to the bees' honey.

Tropes:

  • Bee Afraid: While the bees don't try to sting anyone (they'll be dead if they do), they force the Bears to do their bidding with their honey.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: The Bears, hooked on honey, attack Tabes when she tries to move the hive.
  • Call-Back: In her first episode, Tabes brags about having cleared all the campsites in the area of bees. As we see in this episode, this is something she clearly has much experience with, and is well equipped for.
  • Calvin Ball: The episode opens with Tabes playing football with the Bears. Much to her frustration, Grizzly and Ice Bear have a rather bizarre version of the sport that mixes in equipment and terminology from all sorts of different sports, including an unplugged video game controller.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The fact that bees die when they lose their stingers becomes important, when Tabes rips the stingers off the Bears' costumes to finally snap them out of the queen's influence.
  • Chekhov's Skill: Tabes' talent for football comes in handy when she needs to throw the hive into its new home to get it away from the honey-addled Bears.
  • G-Rated Drug: The fresh honey acts like some sort of mind-control drug to the bears, causing them to fall under the thrall of the queen bee.
  • Shout-Out: Ice Bear's brief fantasy sequence when he first tastes the honey is a parody of the "Baby Mine" number from Dumbo.
  • Stock Animal Diet: The situation is kicked off by the Bears' love for honey. Leans into Genius Bonus territory when the Bears go cuckoo for the stuff, as real-life bears do tend to go nuts when they find honey.
  • Stop Being Stereotypical: When Grizzly develops a fondness for the beehive honey, Panda complains that a bear who likes honey is so cliché. Then he gets a taste of it himself...
  • Visual Pun: Ice Bear remarks he has some spare "bee suits" of his own. They turn out to be bee costumes that the Bears wear for the rest of the episode.
