Part 3 of the Gobbowl Trilogy

When Ruel's elderly teammates are injured, Yugo, Amalia, and Eva are called in as substitutes against Lamechester. And while an emotional unbalance from Lamechester's Iop Jay might prove useful, in the end it comes down to whether or not they can overcome Kriss Krass...

Tropes:

  • Angrish: Kriss, upon seeing how bad Jay is faring while lovestruck.
  • Battle Aura: During the very final part of the match, where everyone's items get unlimited charges, the players end up wrapped in brightly-colored, shounen auras: Red for Lamechester, Yellow for Real.
  • Foreshadowing: When the ball is deflected by Eva far away from Bonta, we see, on a place called "Moon Island", a masked shaman making a Rousing Speech to his subjects... only to be struck on the head by the gobball. This place will actually be visited in a couple of episodes.
  • Graceful Loser: For all of his faults, Kriss Krass takes his defeat with dignity and holds up Yugo's hand after the final touchdown.
  • Historical Hero Upgrade: After his team wins, Yugo's statue at the Gobbowl Acadamy is very... exaggerated, to say the least.
  • Imagine Spot: Two;
    • First, Jay fantasizes him and Eva getting married and exchanging Gobbowl-flavored wedding vows. It ends when Kriss Krass angrily knocks him out of it, amusingly portrayed through the fantasy of Eva socking him and yelling in Kriss Krass's voice.
    • Second, Kriss Kraus becomes so shocked that Yugo outdid him and scored that he sees himself losing his standing in professional sports, complete with an adult Yugo (with a lady on each arm) criticizing him.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: In order to regain the advantage, Kriss cheats heavily during the final part of the match with the referee's collaboration. Then, Amalia manages to turn Jay against his own team and when Kriss is sent flying, he lands on the referee himself.
  • Love at First Sight: Jay takes one look at Eva and becomes so Distracted by the Sexy that his lovestruck stupor puts him on the bench for a time. The announcer speculates he thought too much.
  • Megaton Punch: How Dally takes down Kriss, though to be technical it is a Megaton Shield Bash, but the concept and effects are pretty much the same.
  • My Life Flashed Before My Eyes: When Kriss' mega kick launches a Gobbowl toward Amalia at high velocity, her life flashes before her eyes.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Kriss Kraus may not be evil, but he is an Attention Whore Jerkass, and does this twice.
    • First, he feigns an injury so as to give Real a fighting chance (because he doesn't want his fans to become bored with the match as it would hurt his popularity), which has Gone Horribly Right.
    • Then, after he gets back into the game and is about to score the final goal after everyone else is too injured to stand up, he puts off scoring to show off a little more, allowing Dally to make a comeback.
  • Something Else Also Rises: Eva has this effect on Jay's hair.
  • Super Mode: For the very last point, all the players on field get unlimited charges in their equipment, resulting in powerful auras of yellow/red energy flowing around the players.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Ruel ultimately allows Amalia as well to join the team. Also Dally, despite being the last player standing, makes a point to concede to Yugo the chance to score the last goal and win the game.
  • We Will Meet Again: Kriss to Yugo. Season 2 proves him right.
