Recap / Villainous B Hs Bizarre Bad Venture

Go To

When Flug realised that there're impostors to them, it's up to Flug and Co to go and stop them. Easier said than done.

Tropes

  • Actor Allusion: In Spanish, José Antonio Macías (Flug's voice) voices James from Pokémon. When Dr. Flex is running to Flug and Demencia, Flug takes Demencia and yells "Demencia, I choose you!"
  • The Bus Came Back: The muscular Black Hat (now Black Hot) is the main antagonist in this episode. Also you can see Earl and Monster Black Hat in a flashback.
  • The Cameo: Johnny Bravo, Harvey Birdman, Nergal, Frankie, The Creature, The Villain's Coffee Shop Employee, and the members of Evil Con Carne appear in this episode.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Demencia thinks that her impostor, Dolencia, is 5.0.5.'s doppelganger.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Both Dolencia and Demencia briefly stop their fight when Black Hot talks to them.
  • Enmity with an Object:
    • When swapping enemies, Flug gets to fight 5.0.5.'s double - a potted cactus. He very nearly loses. Then again, the cactus did hitch a ride on the Black Hat ship at the end...
    • According to Flug, the closest thing to a real rival Black Hat has... is the tablet he got last Christmas, which he wrecks by tapping it hard enough to pierce it.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: If you look at Flug's file on Bicep, you can see that his real name is Connor Stobillo, that he loves turtles and never gives up.
    • Through the scrolling pictures on Flug's screen, G-Lo's announced she's a sidekick for hire following Bicep's defeat.
  • Frivolous Lawsuit: The main reason Flug doesn't want to get the Organization's Legal department involved is because the Hattorneys are too busy dishing these out to anyone with a passing resemblance, such as Nergal, Frankie Foster, the Creature, and the Villain's Coffee Shop Employee. When that suit gets settled, the members of Evil con Carne are seen next.
  • Funny Background Event: When Flug checks on Bicep, Demencia's seen choking in the background, after unwisely trying to eat cereal without a dish or spoon.
  • Homage: To JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, big time, as the episode involves a muscular showdown with exaggerated posing and bizarre situations all around.
  • Idiosyncrazy: The Black Hat doppelgangers only go against bodybuilders and Super-Strength-based heroes.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: When Flug tells Demencia and 5.0.5 that they need to find the impostors who steal their clients (and money), Demencia asks how because it's unlikely they invite Flug and company to them. The two dumbbells with invitation and address crash through the wall immediately after that.
  • Kryptonite Factor: When the Black Hat gang switches opponents, 5.0.5. gets Dolencia, who's just as aggressive and strong as Demencia... but has a crippling allergy to 5.0.5.'s flower, netting him an easy win.
  • Not Me This Time: Flug asks Demencia if she took out Bicep, but she tells him it doesn't ring a bell.
  • Not So Above It All: Demencia, used to Flug's more conservative approach, dully wonders whether they will indeed spring the trap. Instead, a fuming Flug retorts that yes, they are going to go and destroy the impostors leeching off their name and reputation.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Little My shows up at the pet shop. A poster for the Talking Dog is seen on a wall nearby.
    • Before leaving their base, Flug, Demencia and 5.0.5. make a pose (and special effects) that parodies Charlie's Angels.
    • Black Hot's introduction is very similar to that of Dr. Frank-N-Furter's, even going as far as paraphrasing the opening line of "Sweet Transvestite".
Black Hot: How do you do? I see you've met my evil handymen.
    • The guy on a treadmill that Black Hot lifted in flashback looks like Obelix Obelodaligos from the Asterix comic.
    • Also the bodybuilding contest and all participants (except Black Hot), judges and spectators were made in Regular Show stylistics.
    • While fighting Dr Flex, Demencia wagged her finger and said "You're too slow!" at one point like a certain superfast blue hedgehog would do. She and her counterpart even make reference to Sonic and Shadow's "faker" dialogue from Sonic Adventure 2.
    • Black Hot created only by himself a picture of himself and Black Hat and Co. similar to "The Creation of Adam" by Michelangelo Buonarroti.
  • Stealth Pun: Demencia proclaims she wants to bite Black Hot, stating she wants a slice of that beefcake.
  • Take That!: When Flug asks what kind of person would dress up like them and try to steal their life, Demencia asks: "Isn't that what cosplay is for?"
  • Trap Is the Only Option: See Not So Above It All. Everyone aware that it's a trap but goes in it anyway.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Bicep thought if his enemy wasn't Black Hat, he could easily beat him. Dr. Flex mopped the floor with him.
  • Unknown Rival: Flug makes it clear that Black Hat neither knows nor cares about his employees challenging Black Hot's gang.
  • Villains Of The Week: Black Hot and his crew. Though Black Hot escapes unscathed to bother Black Hat Organization another day.
  • Villains Out Shopping: Black can be seen looking for a puppy... to eat.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: When swapping enemies, Demencia gets Dr. Flex, Flug's double. While he's far stronger than Flug, Demencia wins by restraining him to the point he can't flex, causing him to explode from the sheer pressure.
    • 5.0.5 gets Domencia who has an allergy to flowers (and therefore to 5.0.5).
  • Wicked Cultured: Monocle and black top hat aside, Black Hot built his own base only by himself and he created (again only by himself) a picture of himself and Black Hat and Co. similar to '''The Creation of Adam''' by Michelangelo Buonarroti.
