Beck fears Jade's reaction if he goes on a date with another girl, so Tori tries to set Jade up with another guy, without her knowledge. Cat and Robbie have to deal with an escaped butterfly belonging to Robbie's sister.

Tropes:

• Brutal Honesty: Doubling with Innocently Insensitive, Jade reveals that she thought the play Beck and Meredith were in was terrible. Andre immediately reveals that he wrote the play.
• Character Check: While Jade had given up her Clingy Jealous Girl tendencies in "Opposite Date", this shows she hasn't fully given them up yet. She's totally chill about Beck dating another girl, until she learns it was a girl that made her jealous when they were dating.
• Clingy Jealous Girl: Although he and Jade broke up months earlier, Beck is reluctant to ask out Meredith for fear of her tendency towards this.
  Beck: When we were dating, one summer Meredith and I were in a play together, and it made Jade like crazy jealous.
  Tori:Oh, okay, and if she found out you were snoodling with Meredith now...
  Beck: Jade would explode like Trina's too tight pants.
• Didn't Think This Through: Tori and Andre hiding in the janitor's closet to avoid Jade. Beck even lampshades it when Jade catches them in there.
  Beck: Yeah, I should have told you, this is a bad place to hide from Jade.
• Distracted By The Cupcakes: The argument between Beck and Jade goes off on a strange tangent...
  Jade: Meredith was always like... (in a mocking high-pitched voice) "Oh, Beck, why don't you come to my house so we can rehearse our lines?" "Ooh, Beck, I brought you some cupcakes".
  Beck: Meredith brings everybody cupcakes! Her dad owns a cupcake shop!
  Tori: He does?
  Beck: Yeah, Frank's Cupcakes.
  Tori: Ooh, they're good!
  Andre: Yeah, they make some legit cupcakes.
  Jade: Ya know what? I don't care. Go out with Meredith. Enjoy her cupcakes!
• Double Entendre: Jade is deeply unimpressed by Sinjin's attempt at these.
  Jade: I can't hear myself in the monitor, turn me up a little.
  Sinjin: Sure, I would love to turn you up a little! [Sinjin and his fellow techs snigger]
  Jade: (scowling) Just turn my voice up, YOU MOP-HEADED FREAK! (Sinjin and his fellow techs do as told)
• The Dreaded: As Beck points out, barring him (and Sinjin), everyone else at the school is too terrified of Jade to contemplate asking her out.
  Beck: None of the guys at this school will ask [Jade] out.
  Tori: Why not?
  Beck: Because Jade is terrifying! All she has to do is look at most guys and they start shaking...and peeing.
• Ear Ache: The escapee butterfly briefly makes a home for itself in Cat's ear.
  • Jade threatens Sinjin with this for not resolving technical issues fast enough.
  Jade: Sinjin! Fix this monitor before I make a necklace out of your ears!
• Hypocritical Humor: Jade insists she doesn't have a problem with Beck asking other girls out, but when Tori urges him to ask out Meredith, Jade blows a gasket.
  Jade: (to Beck) How many times do I have to say it? I don't care who you date, we broke up! Ask out any girl you want!
  Tori: See, I said you should have just asked out Meredith.
  Jade: MEREDITH?!
• I Knew It!: Jade insists she always knew there was something going on between Beck and Meredith.
  Jade: I knew it! I knew it two years ago when you were in that awful play with her!
  Andre: I think I wrote that play.
• Improbable Weapon User: Jade when she confronts Andre and Tori in the janitor's closet. It becomes a Brick Joke when, after Jade gets mad again, Andre hastily grabs every roll of toilet paper in sight.
  Jade: (holding a roll of toilet paper) I ought to take this and kill you both with it!
  Tori: How could you kill us with toilet paper?
• Instantly Proven Wrong: Every time Tori tries to insist Jade would make a good girlfriend for someone, it's immediately followed by Jade screaming abuse at Sinjin and various other boys
• Run or Die: Tori and Andre do this when Jade gets wind of what they're doing.
  Jade: You paid a guy to ask me out?!
  Tori: Run away!
• Satellite Love Interest: Meredith has almost no personality. Especially during the concert, where she agreed with everything Beck said. Deconstructed in that this deterred Beck from her.
• The Scream: Cat lets out continuous yells of agony when the trapped butterfly flaps its wings in her ear canal.
• Security Cling: Tori and Andre do this a lot while hiding from Jade.
• Walk-In Chime-In: While Beck and Tori are discussing setting Jade up with someone else so she won't get jealous of Beck dating...
  Tori: There's got to be some guy at Hollywood Arts who will ask out Jade! (Sinjin pokes his head around the door)
  Sinjin: Not that I was listening at the door, but I'm currently between girlfriends... (Tori slams the door on him)
